We Use Antique Wood Framed windows, Reclaimed wood, Antique furniture pieces, pallets, & other unique items to create home furnishings/decor and more! Hello!
Our team here at Waste Redeemed by Grace consists of Micah and Lauren Rogers; we are a newlywed couple in our early thirties. We met each other four years ago and have been quite literally, inseparable since. We discovered our shared passions for salvaging architectural hardware and design, and preserving sustainable building materials could mesh with our own individual talents for both fine artis
try and skilled labor…. Resulting, naturally, in the smash-up productive art of re-purposing and re-using. In this social and creative realm is where we regularly indulge our educated and skilled, creatively experimental inspiration. Such inspiration has guided toward our current way of life (a.k.a. our method of survival); Locally, we offer Salvage and Clean-Up, Hand Deconstruction, and Odd Jobs services. On the front lines of deconstructing barns in the county and removing old metal treasures buried in fields…. this is where the flow of imagination set out to make new from old and beautiful from ugly. We sell our sometimes Primitive, sometimes Industrial, and Tastefully Rustic Home Décor and Furnishings locally and online, generally in the form of custom orders requested of us (with a huge variety of items), orders placed through Etsy (formerly), whether custom or Simply Hand-Built and Sustainable; all of our artisan handcrafted items are made completely from Salvaged/Reclaimed wood (usually from barns, fences, pallets, etc.) antique hardware from our wide, always growing collection, and many more types of re-used and re-purposed materials that we collect while providing salvage and pick-up services. This is how we effectively divert waste from the landfill, with every single project and each pickup or salvage job we complete. We pass along materials we don’t end up using to others, often for free. We also pick up free items from all over the place, and resell them at affordable prices on Craigslist, so that quality used items can be saved from the landfill while filling someone’s need for said item(s). A little bit about my (Lauren’s) background: I have always been an artist, since my childhood, and in high school a clay coil vessel I made, carved and stained won the statewide Superintendent’s Choice in Art in Education, and still today my “untitled” coil vessel can be seen on display in the Old Capital Building in Olympia, WA. I had a healthy & humble upbringing, plus resourceful, frugal parents worked hard to raise a young adult, athlete, and creative artist. I have always dabbled in many mediums, and for the last 5 years I have been addicted to re-purposing, recycling used items, up-cycling, and salvaging as a way of Creative Expression, which has become our natural way of life, thanks mostly to Micah's influence. Micah is passionate about diverting as much waste from the landfills as humanly possible, and his creative eye, unlimited imagination, and mastery of our crafts bring an element I could never offer on my own. Together our confidence and resourceful tastes result in one-of-a-kind, unique and practical and beautiful handcrafted pieces of all kinds, from handmade cards and envelopes, to jewelry, to full furniture pieces and everything in between. Our way of life peacefully coexists with the communities’ needs for waste diversion, sustainability, and affordable salvage services. We don't just run our business this way, it is the way we live 100% of the time! We make partnerships within our communities to secure all our materials, including shipping materials that are clean and re-usable. “Recycled” shipping materials do not make a strong enough difference when there are literally hundreds on dumpsters within miles of us FULL of bubble wrap, cardboard, etc. Together we decided to be the bridge between the company wasting these materials and their dumpster, allowing us to provide 100% sustainable shipping materials for every order we ship. Together, we have experience is so many mediums and skilled trades it would be overwhelming to list! We are motivated by the process of creating anything someone asks of us (suckers for a challenge), and we have always had great confidence in ourselves as a team. We absolutely love to take a custom project from a simple idea, to design stage, then built to completion, and we take pride in our work with exceptional attention to detail and consideration for every last preference of each client! Most importantly, we know that we have a responsibility to our community and our clients to always practice with kindness, professionalism, and flexibility. The Salvaging part of our "Process" is the most fun, but also most vital element.... it is definitely the area we use to feed our passion and creative inspiration! We have a specific (possibly compulsive) method of observing our surroundings, so by offering Salvage and Cleanup Services Locally, we can supplement our income, serve our community, and promote people working together with affordable methods of waste diversion, sustainable building and deconstruction, and more! We also love to scour the many-an-estate sale in our Pacific Northwest town. Our Salvager's souls take us to somewhere new every day. We feel that our relationship to the community must be as such that we are known as responsible, affordable, and problem solving, respectable business owners. We’d love to always be someone’s first call, to solve nearly any problem or meet any need. We will continue to charge ahead with our business, Waste Redeemed by Grace, as our true passion for two reasons: We love to make items that someone absolutely loves, & we are proud and grateful for how much we save from death by landfill! :)
