🏮COMMUNITY CALL TO ACTION🏮

Our transportation team does an AMAZING job in getting our students to and from school on a daily basis. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Numerous vehicles have disregarded the flashing reds on our school buses. Not only is it against Michigan traffic law to do so, a student could be seriously injured due to this act. Please stop 20 feet from a stopped school bus with red lights flashing.

The 2024-2025 school year is off to a great start at Harrington Elementary!

- Morning Mantra -
I am somebody.
I was somebody when I came here.
I will be a better somebody when I leave.
I am important and I am smart.
I am worthy of the education that I get here.

Great news for middle and high school students in our district - you can now attend all home athletic events for free! Starting this school year, any student in grades 6-12 will be able to get into home games, matches, and competitions at no cost.

This new policy is aimed at making it easier for our young people to get involved and engaged with their school's sports teams. By removing the financial barrier of admission fees, we hope to see more students coming out to cheer on their classmates and be a part of the exciting game day atmosphere.

Whether you're a diehard fan of the varsity football team or just want to try out a new sport you haven't seen live before, you're invited to attend for free. This applies to all home events hosted by our middle schools and high schools - from volleyball and soccer to track and field.

We believe that extracurricular activities like school sports play a vital role in the overall education and development of our students. Not only do they teach important lessons about teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition, but they also foster school spirit and community pride.

By opening up free admission, we hope to encourage more students to experience that school spirit firsthand and take an active part in supporting their peers. So come on out to the next big game - admission is on us!

Last First Day ☀️

Seniors meet before school at 6:30 a.m. to celebrate their last first day of the school year. What a great tradition.

Marshall’s SRO Groeneveld and friends helped ensure the seniors started the year off right by providing donuts.

Thank you Ford Motor Company for your investment in our students and staff. A donation in the amount of $138,000 to the district will have a tremendous impact.

The donation will be used for the following:

Freestanding 20’ x 30’ fully functioning greenhouse to be placed at Marshall Middle School. The greenhouse will allow us to offer experiential learning for our middle school agri-science students.
Total contribution to the district = $100,000.

Four industrial grade outdoor basketball hoops for Marshall Middle School. The district will pay for new cement to go along with the new basketball hoops. This will allow community members another place in the district to gather for physical activity.
Total contribution to the district = $20,000

Ford’s donation will also allow us to bring in nationally acclaimed speaker, Chris Singleton, who will share his powerful message of resilience, forgiveness, and unity. Chris' journey began in the wake of tragedy when he lost his mother in the 2015 Mother Emanuel Church Shooting in Charleston, South Carolina. Through his experiences, he has cultivated a profound mission: to inspire others with his story and unite millions around the belief that "Love is Stronger Than Hate." He will speak at our staff back to school event on August 19th. On August 20th he will have the opportunity to talk to middle & high school students, and a group of athletes/community members.
