Joe Pennacchio
I represent the residents of the 26th Legislative District in the New Jersey Senate.
I hope your Christmas Day is full of peace, joy, and happiness.
New Jersey is suffering from a severe shortage of first responders, and firefighters are no exception. By incentivizing high school students to become volunteer firefighters in their municipalities, students can earn credits to meet certain graduation requirements.
This legislation provides an innovative solution to reduce New Jersey’s firefighter shortage and promotes educational opportunities for students outside of the classroom.
Pennacchio Bill to Credit Students for Completing Fire Academy Courses Clears Committee Sen. Joe Pennacchio's bill that would provide course credits for high school students who become volunteer firefighters was approved by the Senate Education Committee.
On , we honor the brave men and women who help protect this great nation. To all those who have served, and those who continue to serve, .
Israel is the home for all Jewish people throughout the world. It breaks my heart to see the senseless violence that has erupted in Israel after visiting the country just a few weeks ago. We must condemn the unjust violence against Israel and offer our unwavering support for our Jewish communities during this difficult time.
The atrocities being committed by Hamas Terrorists against innocent women and children are horrible. Everyone has a right to exist in peace. The Senate should return to Trenton immediately to pass a resolution to show that we stand in solidarity with Israel and the Jewish People.
Pennacchio & Singer Condemn Violence Against Israel, Stand in Solidarity With Jewish People Sen. Joe Pennacchio and Sen. Bob Singer condemned the terrorist attacks launched by Hamas into Israel over the weekend and called on New Jersey legislators to immediately return to Trenton to pass a resolution supporting Israel and the Jewish people.
I fully support the right of Israel to exist in peace and defend itself against the unprovoked deadly attacks by the Hamas terrorists. I will be introducing a Senate Resolution supporting Israel in the New Jersey Senate and will be asking the Senate leadership to schedule a special session for its passage.
Today is the 22nd anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Let us remember and honor those innocent victims who made the ultimate sacrifice and keep them in our prayers.
This administration failed our veterans. From the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, hundreds of our heroes have died due to inadequate medical care and a lack of effective management and oversight. This report is so damning that even Joe Biden’s DOJ can’t spin how badly our Veterans homes were handled.
After three years of inaction from Democrats in the Legislature stonewalling calls for a comprehensive investigation, it is now time to hold this administration accountable for the harm done to veterans and nursing home residents.
Pennacchio: DOJ Report Reveals Devastating Details About Veterans Homes Sen. Joe Pennacchio lambasted Democrats and the governor's administration's handling of State-run veterans homes after a DOJ investigation revealed constitutionally deficient care for residents at memorial homes at Menlo Park and Paramus.
If Governor Murphy wants to talk about inequities in education, he should start by explaining why he cut funding for more than one hundred schools throughout the state this year. We have a broken school funding formula that is based more by zip code than actual educational need and it is hurting students academically. As a result, some schools receive huge funding increases while most districts are left fighting for crumbs.
If the Murphy administration were truly concerned about equity in education, they would have supported Republican efforts to reform the school funding formula to provide full and fair funding for all New Jersey school districts this year. Instead, Governor Murphy decided that the best way to educate students was to cut funding to their schools and teach them that equitable outcomes are more important than equal opportunities.
Pennacchio Says The Murphy Administration Should Practice What They Preach Sen. Joe Pennacchio said that Gov. Murphy should practice what he preaches in response to recent changes made by the State Board of Education.
New Jerseyans and even some Democrat leaders are speaking out against the Murphy administration’s attempts to push identity politics into the classroom. Parents are tired of their kids being subject to this constant social engineering experiment when real issues such as learning loss are being ignored.
Substituting equity for equality is an anathema to our Constitutional principles and the fact that these changes were specifically directed at children makes it more onerous. I urge Governor Murphy to respect parental rights and veto the Department of Education’s meeting minutes to stop these misguided policies from going into effect.
Pennacchio: Extremism Has No Place in Educating Our Children Sen. Joe Pennacchio blasted the Murphy administration for a recent controversial ruling made by the State Board of Education that has parents and legislators feeling concerned about the direction of education policy in New Jersey.
Governor Murphy has said that ‘no one is coming for your gas stove’ even as his bureaucrats at the BPU were advancing plans to ‘decarbonize’ the state, which means eliminating natural gas and electrifying everything.
Unless we have ironclad guarantees written into state law to protect energy choice and the right of New Jersey consumers to buy and use gas stoves, the governor’s words are meaningless.
Pennacchio Urges Action on Bill to Protect Right to Buy and Use Gas Stoves Sen. Joe Pennacchio urged the Legislature to take action on a bill he sponsors with Sen. Steven Oroho that protects the right of New Jerseyans to buy and use gas stoves.
Democrats promised property tax break to Seniors is nothing more than an election year ruse. Seniors and all New Jersey citizens deserve better.
Each day, firefighters put their own lives in jeopardy to respond to dangerous, often life-threatening situations. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to all of these men and women for their service and dedication.
Augusto Acabou and Wayne Brooks were heroes who gave their lives to protect others and their sacrifice will never be forgotten. I extend my deepest condolences to their families and friends.
Pennacchio Statement on the Tragic Loss of Two Newark Firefighters Senator Joe Pennacchio issued the following statement on the passing of Wayne Brooks, Jr. and Augusto Acabou, two Newark firefighters who lost their lives while battling a cargo ship fire at Port Newark.
May we always remember and cherish the unique rights and liberties we have in this great nation. Happy !
It is incredible to me that despite the state being flush with cash that we are doing a last-minute vote to pass a $54 billion dollar budget that is due no later than today.
How can we allow for a committee vote before the duly elected officers had a chance to see what the actual budget contains?
There is no transparency and the budget numbers provided in the budget committee were inaccurate. Legislators cannot do the job they were elected to do when the process is rushed and opaque.
Why was this budget not completed and voted on weeks ago?
Senator Pennacchio: Democrats’ Budget Comedies Continue Sen. Joe Pennacchio criticized Democrat leadership and Governor Murphy for rushing through a budget that is 60% higher than when the governor first took office.
Happy to all of the incredible dads and father figures in New Jersey!
On , we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our great nation.
To all of the wonderful and supportive mothers and grandmothers out there, Happy !
From my family to yours, I hope you have a happy and blessed !
Welcome Hari and 7-11!
VIDEO: Voting machine issue impacted recent elections in Mercer and Monmouth counties leading to concerns.
Sen. Joe Pennacchio (R-26) has proposed reforms to ensure the integrity of New Jersey elections.
A federal ban on gas stoves may be on hold for now, but we know Governor Murphy's expensive green energy plan would force New Jersey families and businesses to electrify everything, including their stoves, water heaters, and furnaces.
Our bill would guarantee the right of New Jerseyans to use gas appliances and prevent state regulators from implementing any intrusive and expensive bans.
We’re taking power back from the Trenton bureaucrats who want to control our lives.
Oroho/Pennacchio Bill Will Protect Right to Buy and Use Gas Stoves and Appliances Sen. Steven Oroho and Sen. Joe Pennacchio will introduce legislation protecting the right of New Jerseyans to buy and use gas stoves and appliances.
It's officially 2023! Wishing everyone a happy and healthy !
Wishing you peace, love, and joy this Christmas season. From my family to yours, !
