Our Story

Northwest K9 Bed Bug Detectives and Pest Control, is locally owned owner operated company serving the Greater Seattle area. We are experts in bed bug, pest and rodent prevention, detection and elimination. We pride ourselves on using our training and skills to offer our customers the best services available.

We are committed to giving back to our communities and when possible use rescue dogs for our detection services and donate a portion of our proceeds to local shelters to help animals. All of our K9’s our highly trained in bed bug detection and certified by the Integrated Bed Bug Management Association (IBBMA).

Why use detection dogs?
We use detection dogs because they are the best tool available today for detecting any size of infestation and are more reliable than visual inspections alone.

Studies have shown that visual inspections alone using a well- trained technician offers only a 30-35% chance of accuracy. In comparison, a well-trained detection dog has up to 98% accuracy rate.

Our dogs are trained twice daily to keep up their keen sense of smell. The daily training ensures the dogs will only alert on live bed bugs and no other pests. Inspections include both the dog and visual a visual inspection of the dog “alerts” that there is an infestation. We believe in order to provide the best solution for our customers we need to access the size and scope of an infestation first before any treatments should be used.

If treatment is warranted we educate customers on the different treatment options available, how they work and what we recommend in their situation. We feel by using an Integrated Pest Management approach and adhering to “best practices for bed bug management” we offer each customer with a customized plan.
