Can we talk a little about our underclassmen, 8th grader Chayse Ann Gilliland ( #8) and Junior Olivia Oakley ( #2)? In the season of the 9 seniors, they’ve been overshadowed quite frequently, but these 2 “all-around” athletes are BEASTS, they were starters and a vital part of our team! Unbelievable hitters AND dependable defenders! The 2024 team will be built around their tremendous talent & athleticism. We cannot sing their praises enough and our dream season would not have happened without them! We look forward to watching them further their development this offseason at Tennessee Performance Volleyball and Clarksville Volleyball Club! Photo cred: YourSportsEdge.com

An exciting start…an emotional good-bye. No words can say what these photos do. Our girls are so special. They did amazing things this year. Stings a tad to go out this way, but at least it was on OUR court, with OUR amazing fans & familes. Our 9 seniors leave Chayse Ann & Olivia to continue the work in 2024! Those 2 are awesome players and we have a ton of young talent waiting in the wings for their varsity jersey. Thank you to everyone who supported us throughout the seasons. Thank you to all our game volunteers each & every home game & at tournaments. Thank you to our 4 AMAZING COACHES!!!
I’m sure there will be a flurry of news stories & photos to come in the next day or two!
It’s been a pleasure to be UHAVB’s social media manager for the last 8 years and to grow our FB & Instagram platforms and promote our volleyball athletes, our volleyball program & our school. I plan to continue to follow & post about our girls through their club season triumphs, Julia’s FIU signing, and other milestones along the way this school season until the Class of ‘24 walks out the door for the final time!
Much love Blazer Nation! 💚💛

The 2023 UHA varsity volleyball team blazed an amazing 36-3 trail this season before falling in the first round of state in a tight match with the McCracken mustangs (21-25, 22-25, 21-25). This incredible group of young ladies achieved so much together: All A Region Champions, All A State Final Four, District 8 Champions, Academic All District (All of these smart and diligent girls), Region 2 Champions, and Sweet Sixteen of the KHSAA State volleyball tournament. Those are all the tangible accolades that can be easily seen and innumerated, but more importantly this group learned that hard work is rewarded, that perseverance pays off, that you can work and play beside individuals who are very different from yourself, that common goals can be reached with teamwork, that success demands sacrifice, and the list of life lessons goes on and on. There is no doubt in my mind that the lessons learned in building this team and this phenomenal season will help these young women blaze new trails and successes individually. The entire coaching staff is proud of each and every one of these Blazers. What a great season! What a privilege it was to witness the magic you made together. You did it Blazers!
Highlight reel -these girls will forever be in our hearts and our HALL OF FAME!
