3 dead in fiery crash on Maine Turnpike caused by wrong-way driver Three people are dead after police say a wrong-way driver caused a fiery crash on the Maine Turnpike in Portland on Wednesday night.
Shift 1, Ambulance 2 responded under mutual aid to assist the IAFF Local 3107 Biddeford Career Firefighters with a Structure Fire in their city this morning. Crews were assigned to overhaul and salvage operations.
Squad 7 was later special called to the scene and was utilized as an Air Supply unit.

Members from Shift 2, Ambulance 2 are responding mutual aid to assist IAFF Local 3107 Biddeford Career Firefighters with an All Hands Structure Fire in their city.
Congratulations to FF/AEMT Nicholas Reichard on completing his probation! Nicholas is assigned to Shift 4, Dunstan Station.
L3894 would like to congratulate Firefighter/Paramedic Cindy Gorham on her retirement, effective at 0800 this morning.
Cindy started with Scarborough in 2004, spending her entire career assigned to Oak Hill Station on Shift 1. Cindy was known throughout not only the Department but throughout much of Southern Maine for her compassion, empathy, and patient care skills.
Cindy was named Paramedic of the Year in 2006 and received three unit citations.
Cindy, Congratulations on your retirement! Don’t be a stranger to the firehouse!
Shift 4, Dunstan Station personnel assisted S**o Professional Firefighters this morning as they returned from a Vehicle Fire via Route 1.
Shift 3, Ambulance 2 back in quarters this morning after a flurry of calls around shift change. Members of Shift 2 are on duty today.
Shift 3 responded to four separate Motor Vehicle Collisions involving either entrapment and/or serious injuries within 24 hours; in addition to multiple other calls and public service details.
Firefighters from Shift 2 responded to a Structure Fire off Pine Point Road this evening. Quick work by crews contained the fire.
Ladder 1, Engine 7, Ambulance 2 and call members from Engine 4 handled.
The remainder of the balance then diverted to a Motor Vehicle Collision on the other side of town. South Portland Professional Fire Fighters Local 1476 provided mutual aid assistance.

Duty crews responded from extrication training across town at the Public Works yard.
Mutual Aid from Buxton Fire & Rescue, Portland Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 740, S**o Professional Firefighters, and IAFF Local 3107 Biddeford Career Firefighters responded to the scene.
