A love note from us to you:
Be gentle with all of the parts, known or not yet discovered, that are held within you. They are based on needs that arose from deficits; not yours, but theirs. Be curious with the voices yet to speak and be delicate with their peeking eyes...they are waiting to feel safe enough to be heard. Keep your hands softly open and your heart shining towards them. They are you. They are love.
Thank you for this beautiful offering, ๐๐ผ

Thank you,
Thank you, .at.the.intersections for this incredible and important new book! Available today!
What if parenting were an act of social justice? In this part story-telling, part self-inquiry book, authors and therapists Jaya Ramesh and Priya Saaral situate parenting children of color with neurodivergence within the context of various interlocking systems of oppression including settler colonialism, White supremacy, ableism, and capitalism.
These intersections engender isolation and loneliness. Using the voices of parents on the front lines and other experts, Parenting at the Intersections offer an invitation to parents to slow down and reflect on their own parenting journeys.
When parents can be given space to listen to their own voices, to connect with their children, and find community with others, they can find the most radical ways to disrupt systems of oppression.
Happy first day of to everyone celebrating!
Wishing you all a bright and meaningful Kwanzaa โค๏ธ๐ค๐
Wishing our Mindful Path Community a joyous holiday. May it be filled with peace, patience, and pause this holiday season. We are thinking of everyone who is able to be with their loved ones this holiday season and those who are not, and everyone in between. Please be mindful that the holidays are very complex for most and if you're experiencing the gamut of emotions this holiday season, please be kind with yourself.
It's okay not to be okay.
Take time to honor your own needs.
Take breaks when needed.
Stay off social if it's causing more pain.
Remember that most people don't post the hard moments.
Remember that feelings will come and feelings will go.
Remember to breathe.
You're not alone.
We ๐ you.

Happy Hanukkah! May the lights of Menorah candles fill your home this Hanukkah season and may blessings surround you today and always โจ๐๐โฎ๏ธ

It's a long-standing Jewish custom and a mitzvah to light a Yahrzeit candle that burns for a full twenty-four+ hours starting at sundown on the anniversary of the death of a loved one (to remember a life). Once lit, this candle should be left to extinguish on its own.
Tonight we light two candles.
One candle honors the lost lives of all of the innocent Jewish humans and one candle honors the lost lives of all of the innocent Palestinian humans. We grieve, weep, and ache deeply for all terrorized and traumatized humans.
We hold hope for peace and healing for Jewish and Palestinian people and for all suffering people today and always ๐๐ผ
Beautiful ๐๐ผ
Beautiful words about the journey from hurt to wholeness. Especially in the throes of a broken heart, it is so easy to crave explanation from the one who hurt us. We want "closure." But there's something inherently off about seeking the comfort of answers from the very same one who hurt us.
I often ask these questions to clients or students who are in this spot:
- โOn what basis would you trust what you hear from him/her?"
- โWhat keeps you from authoring your own story of this relationship~ beginning, middle, end?"
- โWhy would you privilege his/her narrative above your own?"
An aspect of heartbreak is the loss of your internal compass. Central to your healing is your reclamation of that very same compass... it is waiting for you.
Thank you, โค๏ธ
Everything passes and everything is figure-out-able.
Keep breathing, lean into your strengths, lean out of self-doubt and fear....you're okay.
Some great reminders from ๐๐ผ
Change is scary, but not as scary as staying stuck.
We are here to support you in moving towards your desire to grow and we will walk the path beside you as you continue to bloom ๐๐ผ

Thanks to for this beautifully laid out ABC tool. It's useful to practice emotion regulation tools prior to when you may find yourself needing them. Once you rehearse a tool a few times, you may be more likely to recall and utilize them when a crisis hits.
The ABC tool inserts the ever-powerful pause and as we know, "between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." ~Viktor E. Frankl
