The Botetourt County Rotary Club will dedicate two new park benches at Blue Ridge Park on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 2 pm.

“During this month where we celebrate gratitude, Botetourt County Parks and Recreation wants to thank the Botetourt Rotary Club for this generous donation,” says Botetourt County Parks & Recreation Director Mandy Adkins. “This bench will be used by parents watching their kids experience their first time playing at the park or will provide a resting place for those that just want to take in the beauty of our county.”

"The Botetourt County Rotary Club is proud to continue more than 80 years of Rotary Service to our community by placing these 2 benches at Blue Ridge Park," says Rotary Club Member Joe Obenshain.

Blue Ridge Park is located at 409 Park Dr., Roanoke, VA 24012. The community is invited to attend.

Calling all local businesses! Some of you may remember and some may be new yet in 2020 Botetourt Rotary Club held a raffle with 100% of the proceeds going back to the community. Covid put a damper on that yet we are bringing it back May 1st! If you would like to support this service project, please consider making a donation as a raffle prize! No prize is too small! Think gift cards or gift baskets! Early next year we will be announcing who will be the recipient of this service project. If you’re interested in making a donation, please contact us! This is a significant marketing strategy while helping out the community we live, work, and play in! 🙏

Had a great meeting at Fincastle Library. We welcomed 2 new members today… Noah Moore and Danielle Alexander. We heard from Hope Smith from Hope Tree Family Services.

Wren and Laurel ran their first 5 k today! Ember placed 2nd in her age bracket. Mom motivated and ran with Wren.

Hopefully Wren will forget all her doubts and will be ready to run next year.

It was a great morning with many friends and family to cheer us all on!

Also if you heard a mom saying things like "if you can talk you are still breathing " or "crying makes breathing and running harder," or "you can do it, you already are doing it"......it was all said with the most love!!! First Bank Fall Run 5K 10K

Breckinridge Elementary School (Breckinridge Bears.) The bears placed 2nd as a team. Coach and gym teacher Mr. P. (Kevin Painchaud) took first place in his age division setting a great example for students to strive to do their best. Easton Green age 7. We need help! Calling any available food truck vendors for the upcoming First Bank Fall Run this Saturday. We have lost, as of this morning, our only food truck that has been on the schedule for over a year. 😞 Does anyone by any chance know any food trucks that could come to Central Academy Middle School and support our race??? This is a very significant community event that has been going on for over 35 years? We have approximately 500 people coming and looking for a simple breakfast/lunch menu. Anything you may know would be so helpful to us! It would be from 8 AM to 12 PM? 🙏🙏🙏
