A little shop on Mackinac to find paper goods and gifts. Poppins is a tiny, happy space located on Mackinac Island. Open May to October.

The shop is filled with a carefully curated collection of modern, handcrafted goods and gifts. We sell lovely letterpress greeting cards and stationery, prints, journals, candles, artisanal teas and treats, gifts for baby and bride, bath and body goods and much more. Come in and browse next time you’re on the Island.

The inventory is complete and the book keeping is almost finished, now we can get down to the good part…buying for the 2024 season!
On January 2nd we walked both shops with clipboards. We made notes of the good, the bad and the ugly. These are the goods that sold really well and the ones that just didn’t work in our shops. We talked about displays and how we could improve them. We discussed which departments were over assorted and which ones needed more variety? I acknowledged that I had a problem with cute pouches {they’re all cute} and will endeavor to control myself. 😜 Both shops combined are only 850 sq feet….we have to choose carefully. So now we’ll run some reports to find out how many of our best sellers to buy, we’ll find out which vendors have specials like discounts on shipping costs and then figure out where and when to place our orders. Some we can order online, some we have to see in person, some we’ll wait for specials. We’ll share our new finds along the way.

Our last day in the shop is December 18th and then our team will be heading off the Island for family time. If you need gifts for Christmas please place your order asap. Our last day to place an order before our pause is December 17th. Any order placed after this day will ship January 3rd. If you’re coming to Mackinac for the new year celebration we will be open December 30th and 31st. 🍾
