Congrats to Flinn Scholars Ritisha Das, Lauren Paxton, and Joshua Tint. They are Barrett, The Honors College at ASU students nominated for Marshall and Rhodes scholarships.
Ritisha is pursuing degrees in mechanical engineering and mathematics; Lauren is a graduate with a bachelor's in psychology and minor in economics; Joshua is pursuing bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science.
The Marshall Scholarship covers graduate study at any university in the United Kingdom, while the Rhodes Scholarship covers post-graduate study at Oxford University.

Flinn Scholars will be gathering Oct. 1 for the 2024 Flinn Foundation Centennial Lecture, “Building History: Continuing the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,” sponsored by Barrett, The Honors College at ASU.
Scholars from Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University and The University of Arizona will have the opportunity to hear a moderated conversation with Dr. Bernice A. King and attend a private event.
The annual Centennial Lecture, which brings one influential scholar, artist, writer, or public figure to ASU each fall, is funded by an endowment awarded by the Flinn Foundation.

The registration deadline for the Oct. 5 SAT is Friday, Sept. 20. This is the last opportunity to take a standardized test accepted by the 2025 Flinn Scholarship.
The Flinn Scholarship requires a minimum score of 26 on the ACT or 1230 on the SAT. The scholarship does superscore.

Advancing the humanities, helping Native college students succeed and the importance of the Flinn Scholarship were top topics for Scholar alum and National Endowment for the Humanities Chair Shelly C. Lowe during an event at the Flinn Foundation this week.

We have some exciting, and bittersweet, staff changes to announce here at the Flinn Foundation.
Flinn Foundation Executive Vice President Brad Halvorsen is retiring after 35 years of service to the Foundation and Arizona, including working closely with the Flinn Scholars Program.
Matt Ellsworth, who has served as vice president, communications since 2015 has been promoted to chief administrative officer. He’s also a Class of 1993 Flinn Scholar.
And Stacy Sullivan, a veteran journalist who led philanthropic journalism efforts at the Arizona Republic and Gannett’s USA Today Network, has been named vice president, communications.
