Victoria Aveyard is an American young-adult novelist best known for her many fantasy and fictional works. She has a BFA in Writing for Film and Television, which is how she got her start into being an author.
Her bestselling series “Red Queen” follows Maven, a young girl who lives in a divided world amongst red-blooded commoners and silver-blooded magical nobles. When Maven discovers that she has silver abilities as a red, her fate is twisted, leaving her future an uncertainty. This series touches on social classism and resistance to systemic tyranny.
Aveyard also recently released her new book series “Realm Breaker,” which instantly made it to the top of the New York Times bestselling list.
If you like fantasy worlds and plot twists, give her books a read!

Jhumpa Lahiri is a British-American writer with Bengali heritage. Lahiri primarily focuses on drawing on her own experiences to discuss Indian-American stories that range from immigrants grappling with assimilation, to second- and third-generation Americans contending with their culture. Some of her best-known works are “The Namesake” and “Interpreter of maladies.” “Interpreter of Maladies” is a collection of short stories about the lives of Indians and Indian Americans; the titular story in the collection follows an Indian American couple traveling to their country of heritage alongside their interactions with their guide who works as a medical interpreter to “translate” patients’ illnesses.
