There is a lot of Christmas spirit in the City of Pelham! The Pelham City Hall is so festive and has all the Christmas props ready for your family’s photo shoot.
The rain didn’t dampen the Christmas spirit in Calera tonight. The City of Calera Christmas Parade never disappoints! We enjoyed being a part of the festivities.
Our crew had a wonderful time in Helena at the annual Christmas Parade. What a great crowd and huge parade! Great job City of Helena-Helena, Alabama!

The Lovelady Center is based on the idea that we are called to help those seeking to change their own lives for the better. This center is changing lives through faith-based learning and gives women and children hope for an incredibly bright future.
The Alabama Senate Republican Caucus was able to spend some time with members of their team yesterday in Birmingham. It was inspiring hearing some of the testimonies about the center, and we look forward to a continued partnership for all the good they are doing in Alabama.
Thank you to everyone at the National Computer Forensics Institute for giving us a tour. Chief Rodney Smith, SRO Jay Cromer and I had a wonderful and educational visit with you today.

Today was Cawaco RC&D grant announcement day for Shelby County organizations. Congratulations to the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum, Shoal Creek Park Foundation, Shelby Co Cooperative Extension Service and the Shelby County Historical Society.
Alabaster BOE purchases new educational program - Shelby County Reporter The Alabaster City Schools Board of Education approved multiple pieces of technology to aid in its goal of educating students during a regularly scheduled BOE meeting on Monday, Nov. 13.
University of Montevallo hosts, wins inaugural home wrestling match The Falcons, who began the night 1-1 on the season, looked to show out in front of the home crowd, and that is exactly what they did.

It was an exciting day in the City of Alabaster, Alabama at the official grand opening/ribbon cutting of the fabulous new police station.
I was honored to be a part of the Veterans Day celebration at the Brierfield Ironworks Historical State Park tonight where we honored Bibb County’s oldest veterans: Bill Earwood (age 103), Ed Lightsey (age 99) and Walt Williams (age 92). The Alabama Army National Guard band put on a fabulous show.
Happy Veterans Day! Thank you to all who have served and who continue to serve our country to protect our freedom!
Clanton, Maplesville receives Cawaco RC&D grants - The Clanton Advertiser Cawaco Resource Conservation & Development announced on Nov. 2 that six different organizations in Maplesville and Clanton received $36,500 in funding for area projects.
We had a lovely evening at the annual BCA Evening for Progress Dinner in Birmingham tonight.

Hope Pointe Behaviorial Health Crisis Center in Tuscaloosa will open its doors to West Alabama citizens tomorrow. Today, we joined Governor Ivey and members of her team at the ribbon cutting event to celebrate these new services.
Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Birmingham National Weather Service office in Calera at the Shelby County Airport. Kenneth Paschal State Representative District 73 and I enjoyed visiting with NWS staff and seeing their operations. Their mascot, Owlie Skywarn, was also on hand for the celebration.

This morning I attended The Worlds of Work (WOW) event at Shelton State. Great job, West AlabamaWorks, Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, Alabama Community College System, 3 Workforce Development Council and everyone who played a part in this event. The WOW Expo is a nationally recognized immersive experience showcasing competitive careers in West Alabama to over 4000 students. WOW allows students to explore career opportunities through hands-on demonstrations with industry leaders. The event which takes place on the Shelton State Community College campus for two days, partners with hundreds of industries to showcase their companies and build their future workforce.

This annual event gives community members an opportunity to engage with police officers and firefighters and learn more about each organization. Senator Robert Stewart and I enjoyed a very informative visit to Cahaba Medical Care today. It was great to hear about the new physicians serving patients in Wilcox and Perry Counties as well as many other rural and underserved areas in Alabama. The new Frontier Program is the first of its kind in the Black Belt region and showcases Cahaba's dedication to improving rural areas' healthcare and economic growth. With the Frontier Program, The Cahaba + UAB Family Medicine Residency hopes to replicate the success of its Bibb County-based Rural Program, where 55 percent of its alums doctors remain working in Alabama, and 40 percent are serving in rural areas.
One of my favorite events of the year. Thank you to The Shelby County Chamber for another fabulous event honoring our local heroes!
The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce Fall Supper followed the 2nd Annual Chamber Golf Tournament which was held earlier today. These two great events promoted local businesses and raised funds to provide scholarships to local students. I enjoyed the evening visiting with Chilton County friends.
