Baker Mansion
The Baker Mansion History Museum is open for public tours for the 2024 season! Tours are available Fridays through Sundays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Congrats to our museum docent, Joey Lehman, for this truly TITANIC accomplishment! 👏👏
Joey Lehman, BG Academy 10th grader, recently presented RMS Titanic at the Altoona Library. The public was invited to learn about a LEGO construction Joey created of the Titanic, the purpose of the historical ship, famous people onboard, film adaptations, safety features, crew and passenger experiences, and more. Following the one hour plus presentation, Joey invited the full house of attendees to browse his collection of Titanic Era Memorabilia, historical and contemporary books, and other unique items. Guests could also see the interior decks of the 4 foot long LEGO model of the Titanic, built by Joey. This free program attracted guests from ages 4 years old to a 99 years old!
A big thanks to all who supported Joey—especially his 3 teachers from Bishop Guilfoyle: Mr. Tyler Moudry, Mr. Michael Kalos, and Mr. Cody Ebersole! Their support and mentorship of Joey in and outside of the classroom has given him a strong educational foundation, a mountain of confidence, and an edge as he pursues his passions in history and more.
