Diana and Zach met on a dating app. Their first meeting was over sushi, a shared love for both of them. They both had their guards up, the date didn’t go great. Diana wouldn’t let Zach pay for her because she wasn’t sure there would be a second date. But Zach was not deterred, and when he asked for a second date, Diana figured he WAS cute, so what the heck. Somewhere along the way, she must have changed her mind, because a couple weeks ago they got married (there was sushi there, so Diana figured what the heck).

George and Missy met in San Diego in 2017. They were at the same bar, and George noticed Missy because she was using her foot as a phone. George was equally intrigued and confused by this, so when her friend approached them and asked if he was single, George said “it depends who’s asking,” while secretly hoping it was the foot girl asking. George approached Missy and told her they had something in common, he didn’t have a phone either. Just in case you’re wondering, Missy is a teacher, and whenever her kids want to taddle on someone, they have to use their foot phone to call about it first, and usually that cures them of the need to tell Missy about it. Missy was demonstrating this method to her friends at dinner.
5 years later, George spent all week getting his boat ready for the perfect proposal on their trip to the outer banks. By the proposal day, his boat was on the verge of sinking, so he popped the question on the dock of the air b and b instead. We are so excited to celebrate Missy and George tomorrow at the Island House!

“So we met through mutual friends, one that I went to University of South Carolina with and one that Evan went to Clemson with, at a bar in Washington DC. My friend Grace (kid you not) dared me to walk up to Evan (who she knew, but I did not) and give him a wet w***y. Which I did 😂 We ended up hanging out the rest of the night….We started dating “long” distance after that, because I was living in Baltimore at the time. He proposed in Charleston shortly after we moved to Charlotte together. Evans’s family was in town visiting with my family for Labor Day weekend in Charleston. We “were going to lunch” and my mom’s friends beachfront house on the Isle of Palms. So we drove over there and he popped the question and had a photographer there! I definitely definitely knew because his whole family was here and I just had a feeling haha but it was still so nice. We then went back to my parents house, where he surprised me with close family and friends for a little party!”
We are so excited to celebrate Katherine and Evan at tomorrow!

In Serbian tradition, rosemary is used to decorate as it’s strong scent is said to counter unclean forces, and the bride was to carry a bouquet of herbs to protect against spells. We honored this with little rosemary bouquets at each place setting for Emily and Nikola.
