The results are in: Your generosity helped us raise $12,915.34 and 1,809 pounds of food for Hallie Q. Brown Community Center, Merrick Community Services, Neighborhood House, Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul's Department of Indian Work, and Keystone Community Services in March! When you give to your neighborhood food shelf, one dollar can be turned into two to three meals and feed a person for a day. Twenty dollars can feed a family of four for five days. Thank you for keeping our local food shelves stocked and for helping fight hunger in our community!

Shoreview is participating in No Mow May and joining the fun to help our pollinating friends! 🐝 🦋 Yard signs (pictured below) are available at city hall for participating residents while supplies last. Signs are not required to participate.

Participation is voluntary. The code enforcement for lawn height will be temporarily suspended during May. Properties need to come back into compliance by June 10.

The "Short" stone barracks in approximately 1895.

Constructed in the 1820s by the 5th Regiment of Infantry to be used as enlisted barracks, this building was used well into the 1880s for that purpose. After their usefulness as living space for soldiers had run its course, the buildings were used to store ordinance until the turn of the century.

Shortly after 1900 the buildings were torn down by the army, leaving little of the 1820s fort remaining.
