Think about this- if you and the love of your life had a 30, 40, even 50 year anniversary coming up, but you lived in a care center. Would you want someone to help you celebrate? Our caregivers learned of such a situation. Instead of buying a cake and balloons. They became wedding planners! "I'd marry you all over again."
Caregiving is about celebrating personal life stories and meeting persons where they are according to their accumulation of life story milestones. Ultimately it's about relationships and gratitude.
