Curling Iron vs. Curling Wand
Curling Iron vs. Curling Wand So, I wanted to talk to you a little bit about the difference between a curling iron and a curling wand. And this is a conical curling wand, meaning it goes from fat to skinny. A curling iron is going to give you a flat, soft curl that's curled from the, evenly curled from the root to the tip. It's going to give you the most smoothness that you can get out of a curl. So, if you have really textured or frizzy hair, it's going to be your best option. Also, if you have damaged ends, the, holding the end of your hair in between the two metal plates actually gives it a lot of smoothness and shine. That being said, a wand is a super modern curl. A little bit more like a natural one if it's shaped like this. Because, it keeps a good bit of fullness at the top of the hair and more of a curly look throughout the bottom. Also, really fast to use. So, if you're in a hurry you can definitely bust through your hair a little bit faster that way. And the curl, I will say, the biggest difference to me is the feel of the curl. This is a flat, smooth curl and this is more of a puffy, big curl. You can see, then, if I were to make it even more puffy. And those are the same size. So, that's the basic difference between a curling wand and a curling iron. see more at http://www.mhdhairtools.com

Style Side-Swept Bangs
Style Side-Swept Bangs Hi everybody. I wanted to show you today how to style side-swept bangs. So our beautiful model here has lash grazing length bangs. You could do this style with, you know, kind of cheekbone, anything that was a little bit longer. And I've already blow-dried the rest of her hair. What I'm going to show you is how to style them from wet and also we'll go over a couple of things that you might be hitting, or being confused about. So first thing is, I've dried the bangs to be probably 80 percent dry leaving most of the moisture at the bottom here. If you do have any kind of cowlicks or anything like that I would recommend doing your bangs first with the blow dryer and then proceeding, even if you just rough-dry the rest of your hair, if you just will do that first. So you might notice that we're not starting with the part in the bangs today. I always find that if you start with the bangs and work them fully down before I push them over to the side, that you have a softer effect. And it also keeps it a little more movable so should the wind blow, you're not stuck in one direction. So what I'm going to use today to style them is a blow dryer and a round brush. You might also want to get a little flat brush. And this one, this is a teeny one, but this one has a combination of natural bristles and synthetic ones, so the synthetic ones are going to help you to grip the hair and the natural ones are actually going to impart a lot of shine into the hair. What I'm going to do is, if she had an enormous cowlick I would start with the bangs completely wet and I would go in with this brush, and what I would do is, I would wrap the bangs. So I would go from one side of the hair to the other side, and what you're doing there is you're breaking up any kind of part lines that you might naturally have in your hair. You're also creating a lot of good movement throughout. So, say that she had a cowlick that was popping her bang up, like that, it was popping it in th

Style Short BangsStyle Short Bangs
Style Short BangsStyle Short Bangs So I wanted to show you today how to style short bangs. As you can see our model has pretty short bangs. This tutorial would work well if your bangs are a little bit shorter or a little bit longer, too. Just a great bit of information about how to style different types of bangs. So what I've done is obviously I've finished blow drying the rest of our model's hair today, and now I'm going to start on the bangs. I will say that at home, if you struggle at all with your bangs, I would absolutely recommend blow drying them first, and doing it from the wettest part. Actually I rough dried her hair about 90 percent dry leaving most of the moisture in the bottom. However if you had a cowlick or something like that, then you would want to leave a little more moisture at the root area. I've also prepped her hair using a styling product, just something with a little bit of hold and smoothness. I think a big mistake that we make at home when we're styling our bangs is we leave all of the product out of them. Product doesn't always mean that your hair is going to get oily. It just means that it's going to stay where you put it. So what I'm going to use today is I'm going to actually use a very small flat brush. If you don't have this, you can also use a larger one. This is a Mason Pearson brush and this a Spornette brush, brand wise. Whatever you can find that is comparable. I will say this brush has synthetic bristles and natural. The synthetic bristles are going to help grip the hair and hold it into place, and the natural bristles are going to help add a lot of shine and smoothness to the hair. So what I'm going to start to do is I'm going to take my brush and my blow dryer and I'm going to do a technique called a wrap. I'm going to use the natural bend of her forehead to add just a slight little bend to the hair. And I'm going to do that by wrapping it. I'm going to go from one side to the other side. And what I'm going to do is I'm going

Style Your Hair into a Modern Knot
Style Your Hair in a Perfect Ponytail 1.Start out clean Begin with clean hair. A traditional knot stays in place better with day-old hair. But for this messy, modern look, freshly shampooed strands work better. 2.Brush your hair Brush your hair toward the back of your head. 3.Make a ponytail Make a ponytail with an elastic band, divide it into two sections, and tug the hair to tighten it. 4.Do the twist Twist the two sections around each other and keep twisting until you reach the bottom of the tail. 5.Coil it Now take the twisted ponytail and coil it around the elastic band. 6.Secure it with bobby pins Secure the knot with bobby pins. Don’t worry if there are loose pieces: A casual vibe is the point of a modern knot. see more at www.mhdhairtools.com
