Many wonderful items have passed through the inventory of our shop. Where purchased, from whom, makers' marks/signatures, and construction help us put together a description. Occasionally, something magical happens. Suzan Hall Miles Sprinkle (and her husband Phil) in search of pieces created in the 1970s and 1980s by her brother-in-law, Bruce Sprinkle, believed she saw strong similarities between his work and a piece we had listed on Chairish.
Bruce's photo is below. He went by Eddie Sprinkle at the time of his death in 1988. He was an early casualty of the AIDS epidemic. He died in Santa Fe where he was part of a thriving art community. At the end of his life he was cared for by two women who have created a legacy by continuing to produce his metal cut outs. They are marketed at Doodlet's in Santa Fe.
After looking at photos of his work and some sketches he had made for pieces, we were convinced as well. Happy to say this wonderful folk-art cow is now in the Sprinkle family's collection. They are planning a show of Bruce's (Eddie's) work in Santa Fe in the not-too-distant future. Hopefully we can help to discover other pieces. Pieces that are signed were sold, those unsigned were presents to family and friends. Our cow was discovered in the Columbus Ohio area, unsigned.
Many items in our inventory are listed on Chairish, our shop found at https://www.chairish.com/shop/barleytwist-williamwalkerhome

Redefining the Elf on the Shelf! A 19th century maupet, a wooden puppet used as an artists model. We've seen very few carved better than this. Wonderfully jointed A must have for a serious artist.
Love the speckled light at the Lauritzen Gardens. Exceptional place for an antique show!
