We hope this message finds you well. We wanted to inform you that as of January 1st, 2025, our practice will no longer be accepting Davis Vision insurance. This decision was made to ensure that we can continue to provide the highest quality of care that you deserve.

We sincerely appreciate the loyalty and trust you have placed in us over the years. Your support means everything to our team, and we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for you.

Comcast will be at our office this morning to upgrade our phone lines. During the 30-minute switchover, our phone service will be temporarily unavailable. We are dedicated to supporting the community where we live and operate our small business. Our patients come from across the state, including many from Ruidoso, for their annual eye exams. As a team, we were deeply saddened to witness the devastation in Ruidoso and were eager to assist the community.

Local baseball and softball teams approached us about hosting a car wash and bake sale fundraiser to benefit the Ruidoso Little League. We were honored to provide our parking lot for this event, which was a great success in bringing teams together to help their peers in need.

Vista Eye Care is proud to have played a role in enabling these young athletes to promote unity and support surrounding communities. We have also committed to donating directly to Ruidoso Youth Baseball so they can help additional families who have suffered significant losses.

January is Glaucoma Awareness Month. Please remember to get comprehensive, dilated eye exams and follow up accordingly with any glaucoma concerns your eye doctor may communicate with you.

Glaucoma is called “the sneak thief of sight” since there are typically no symptoms and once vision is lost, it’s permanent. As much as 40% of vision can be lost without a person noticing.

Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness. Moreover, among African American and Latino populations, glaucoma is more prevalent. Glaucoma is 6 to 8 times more common in African Americans than Caucasians.
