Wildlife, scenic and travel photography Over the years I have accumulated many, many images. This is just the first step in marketing my work. Tomas Mitchell
At heart I am an artist, I have worked in different mediums over the years but photography and music have been my main interest
As a teenager I started playing instruments and writing songs, to this day I still write and record music and daily try to improve my musicianship. I started doing photography in my early 20's, I did extensive work in portrait, wedding and model photography and for man
When I heard that the northern lights were going to be strong while I was photographing in Glacier National Park, I knew exactly where I wanted to be standing at dark. This was the spot and this image is exactly what I had envisioned.
Here is another one of the Northern Lights over Glacier National park.
I'm slowly working on the images I got of the Northern Lights in Glacier National Park on the 10th. Here is one I really love. I aimed my camera straight up and was using my 14 mm lens. I like this one with the trees in the corner because they give context as to where I am and what this is.😁
12 days ago on October 10 I was on my second day of photographing the fall colors in Glacier National Park. I heard the aurora borealis were going to be really strong so I set up on the edge of Lake McDonald. It was an amazing experience. Here is only one of many images I took. This was a 2 second exposure at ISO 3200 and f/2.8 for all you photography nerds. 😁
I’m in the middle of spending 5 nights near Glacier National Park photographing the fall colors which are glorious. Last night I was able to photograph the northern lights over Lake McDonald. It was one of the most amazing experiences in my life! This iPhone image looks about what it looked like to my naked eye. The images I got on my Nikon are far better!
I dream of light. Low, bright, and strong. Casting long shadows of the forest trees on the mountainside. Moody and powerful. Autumn light breaking the clouds bathing the cold mountain in warmth.
I received an email the other day from someone who works for the State of California.

“Hello my name is I work for California State Parks in the Monterey County District. I am making an informative online presentation about California native plants and wanted to use your photo "Color Waves, Amazing Wildflowers". It is a great example of the beauty of the native coastal ecosystem. Would that be alright with you and if so, how would you like to be credited? Thank you for your time.”
It never ceases to amaze me that people think they can use my images and they are doing me a favor if they credit me. This was my response.
“Thank you for contacting me and your interest in my image Color Waves. I would be more than happy to license this image for a one time use fee of $100, at which time you will receive a higher quality file which is suitable for publication in print and web based articles. All my images are copyrighted and using any image with out my consent will result in a lawsuit. If you would like to license this or any of my images please contact me.”
Autumn is approaching, my favorite time of year! Here are some images from my trip to Zion National Park last November. All of my images are for sale as Limited Edition Fine Art Prints.
On July 2nd I backpacked into this area of the Uinta Mountains, just to relax and explore. I also of course had to photograph. This image is a blend of two photograph I took, one at sunset and one at about midnight. I really like how this turned out!
Here is another show display print I’m selling. This is a 30x45 Aluminum Print that retails for $1395. I’m selling it for local Utah delivery for $600 or shipped within the USA for $700. Contact me if you are interested. This print is a limited edition # 5 of 100.
This is a glossy print best displayed in a dark room without any window light and lit with overhead track lights. Glossy prints will reflect window light and lights in the room but really explode with color when lit with color balanced track lights. Contact me if your are interested.
I have too many show display prints and I am trying to reduce the number. This one is a 30x45 inch Aluminum Mounted print that retails for $1395. It has one small ding which isn’t noticeable unless you look very closely. This is a limited edition number 2 of 5. I’m offering this for local delivery in Utah for $600. If you want it shipped to you within the USA the price is $700. Message me if you are interested.
As you can see it is a glossy print which will reflect any room light. It is best to hang a glossy print in a dark room with overhead track lights to illuminate the print. This print comes to life when lit properly and these images do not do it justice.
Message me if you are interested.
Here are a couple more from my trip to Glacier National Park. These are from the same spot as the last one just different compositions. What don’t you like about them?

Almost 2 weeks on the road and I finally got a photograph last night I’m proud of. These are iPhone images I took. The real images will be released soon.
Sunday night 7/7/2024 at about Midnight we went up to Smith and Morehouse Reservoir in the Uinta Mountains to look at the stars. I couldn't resist taking a photograph across the lake.
We waited for the weekend crowed to leave and had Smith and Morehouse almost to ourself tonight.
Happy Independence Day!
This was my bedroom last night.
Another from my favorite spot in the Uinta Mountains of Utah.
One of my favorite places. I’m planning on a camping trip here the first week of July.
I took this a few years ago in CA. I miss hearing the ocean waves.
Lake Tahoe is one of my favorite places.
