The perfect wines to accompany your Easter meal! 🐰
Listen, we know a lot of wines out there with critter labels aren’t always the best, but trust me when I say, these are.
All wines are under $20!
Joao Meneres is the real deal, and his Quinta Do Romeu from the Douro is some great f the most stealth excellent Portuguese wine in the CT market. Certified organic, lovely, excellent wines. Come try ‘em TODAY 2-5 at Tilted Bottles on Raymond Road.
Cirelli Montepulciano in amphora is so damn lovely. Velvety with a deep dry purple taste that matches the smudge on the label. Great wine for a rainy winter night, and the killer feta bake that we make at least once a month (or should). Alas, there’s nothing to celebrate with wine prices, beer prices, spirits prices and food prices these days, but at close to $30 this wine closes the door to any possibility of buyers remorse. When it says Cirelli on the label, you know the wine doesn’t have any mystery ingredients. You really can’t say that about the big brands.
A perfect Pipeño from Tinto de Rulo…a distinctive natural wine with a real tart pop of refreshment and fruity perfection that makes this a wine for your sour beer loving friends to try. Sooo good. .
Do what Luciana’s doing and join us for Rioja Part II cellar school this Thursday in West Hartford. Rioja is a fixed idea in many people’s minds, but in reality there’s much afoot over there in Spain’s most iconic wine region. We’ll peel back the curtain just a little bit…. Join our tasting tour, this time with an emphasis on the wines for fall and winter from some of Rioja’s best garagistas to the legendary
The professionals make it look easy. If only. Thankful for
End times are here.
Woke up to such sad news today that Pascale Collette of Chateau Jean Faux, after a brief illness, passed away last night at the young age of 63. A wise man who struck us as much a philosopher as a winemaker, whose farming and winemaking showed intuitive understanding of life and respect. Wow, what a loss. Our condolences to his family and all that knew him. Raising a glass to his memory, and his inspiration.
Rioja Masterclass next Thursday June 22nd. * Link to tickets in the bio*. School may be out but class is in session. We are going to taste through the “lighter side of Rioja” so we don’t clash with the season, and then in the Autumn, Rioja Class Part II, we will dive deep into the fall flavors. Join us!!
Those of us at Missing Link are lucky enough to enjoy Bobby J’s evening missives about this or that bottle of wine that he gently removes from our warehouse some evenings after work. A recently arrived 2021 bottle of Clos Cibonne ‘Cuvée Tadition’ Tibouren rosé earned this observation at the backyard table this week: “this wine smells and tastes exactly like the entire season of Spring”. If you’ve had Clos Cibonne, this praise won’t seem like any kind of exaggeration. It’s what sharing a good bottle of wine is all about. Seek it out.
South African winemaker Jurgen Goews of Intellego pitching his wares - including an eye-openingly correct and delicious Pinotage- to a Savvy & Discerning audience at West Hartford’s Union Kitchen.
Another example of why these big companies just suck. Someone helps me find a door sweep and I go to pay for it. I insert my card to pay and the cashier who I smile at behind the plastic barrier hands me a receipt and this stupid “survey” about my experience with her. It was right out of a Black Mirror episode. My only experience with her was her asking me to fill out the survey about my experience with her. A pox on the heads of the corporate morons at Lowe’s who make their employees grovel for their jobs with customers rather than training them and managing their own staff, and leave customers customers to be customers, not unpaid “managers” for Lowe’s. Where on earth is this country headed? These companies suck. .netflix https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse3.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOIP.3ooalELaLorz7PDLpii9PwHaD3%26pid%3DApi&f=1
One of these vessels recently contained 25 ounces of the most life-affirming sublime aged Alsatian Riesling from a most wonderful producer. Both vessels are now empty.
