Close calls on the first leg of our East 3rd St move. Going through downtown Austin at 11:00 pm on a Friday is not ideal but we were successful. .gibbs.52687 and Primoso were excellent as usual.

I found this old photo of from 2012 when we were reatoring the Dedrick Hamilton house, part of the Austin African American Cultural and Heritage Center. I have had the fortune of working with this man for nearly 13 years. The irony of this photo is that this photo was taken before I took over River City Structural Movers. If you had told Juan and me that one day we would be running the show, we would have called you a liar.
It's been a wild ride.
We lifted a large house in Rockport to allow for a new foundation. helped us with some new plates on our long steel to accommodate a new idea on steel interchangeability.

This is a project we have worked with GNDC for over 2 years. We have moved several structures for GNDC and are happy to have helped with this. The Lopez is, literally, the last outpost on this block.
Austin’s Weirdest Tower Is Officially Under Construction at La Vista de Lopez “Keep Austin Weird” isn’t a great slogan, since it puts pressure on people who live here to act like they’re extraordinarily quirky and different from people in other cities…
This house will be separated into three sections and moved from Round Top, TX to Fayetteville, TX. We will re frame a new roof with better ceiling height and more living space.

The Lopez House is, literally, the house from Up. It sits in the midst of development and one block from the French Legation museum in 9th St in downtown Austin. Thousands pass it on I35 everyday and do not notice it. We will be relocating, temporarily, to a GNDC development site in east Austin. Very tight site conditions on our next move.

This is a nonconforming garage structure we lifted in Hyde Park. The structure could not be rebuilt in place due to modern setbacks and easements. The extreme measures utilized to save the structure were necessary to keep the valuable square footage intact. We harvested all the original board and batten Siding and windows for restoration and reinstall.
