It is with great pleasure that I inform you that the Health Sciences Service Learning and Advocacy group (HSSLA) has selected Marbles; Mania, Depression, Michaelangelo, and Me by Ellen Forney as the Common Book for the Health Sciences for the academic year 2018-2019. In keeping with recent past selections addressing drug addiction, racism and mass incarceration, migrant farm-worker exploitation, and homelessness, this year's book is both timely and thought provoking. We anticipate a series of events which will challenge our health sciences students to see this issue as one which will affect their families, communities and their future patients.
**This book contains images that can be considered sexually explicit. If you find these materials offensive, we will be announcing an alternative selection in the coming week.
