Golden Giants take 2022 off to work on new stadium, rebrand The Golden Giants will not play in 2022 as the team works towards construction of a new stadium and rebrands itself.

Statement from the Topeka Golden Giants

Topeka, KS – The Topeka Golden Giants announced today that they would take off the 2022 season as they begin a process of building a suitable stadium for high level baseball.

“The Golden Giants have produced the highest level of sports in Topeka for a decade,” said team owner J.R. Bond. Bond continued, “We want to continue that, but we need to work on building a suitable stadium for our players and our fans.”

The Golden Giants are working to secure a long-term lease for a dedicated facility in Topeka. The process will take time.
In addition to working on building a stadium, the team will undergo a rebrand as well as begin searching for a new league for 2023.

“It is important as we make a move to a new dedicated stadium, that we start things fresh. We will completely re-brand with a new name and begin the process of seeking a higher caliber league,” said team owner J.R. Bond.

Announcements will be made in the coming months on developments.

I can’t thank everyone enough for what you guys did this summer. The summer of 2021 will be a summer I will never forget. Thank you for letting me be a part of your tight knit family and thank you for the gratitude. It was a pleasure seeing these guys develop and thrive this summer.

PLAYOFFS: Topeka has clinched the #4 seed in the Mid-Plains League Playoffs! The chase for the Cowdin Cup will start Monday as we take on the Baldwin City Blues for a best of three series. Time & Location are TBD.
