Kindergarten Superheroes!
Mrs. Martinez's WIN group was awarded a Project Jack, Pay It Forward Grant. After reading, Because of Winn Dixie, a story about a stray dog who changed everything for a little girl named Opal, they decided to make fleece tie blankets to donate to a local animal shelter. Students measured, cut, and tied the blankets all on their own. Today, The Quad City Animal Welfare Center visited to collect our donation. Students loved listening to a presentation about what it takes to work in an animal shelter and the various careers that are available within the shelter. We also had an extra special visitor from the shelter, Clara, a current puppy who is up for adoption
