Perfectly delightful Limoges. Set of 4. Pretty as a Spring day! Invite your friends for tea. Serve custard, fruit, ice cream, mousse in these light as a feather ramekins and saucers.

Exquisite and delicate Limoges France Ramekins and Saucers. Refined beauty here with a restrained hand. The 4 Ramekins and Saucers are white with outer shimmery gold borders and decal rosebud garlands both inside and outside.

The outer sides of the ramekins and 1" border that radiate from the center of the saucers are bas relief ribs that give a lovely tactile almost sunburst quality.

Charles Field Haviland (1832-1896) worked for many years at Limoges with various family members. GDA stands for Gerard, Dufraisseix & Abbott, the eventual brand of one branch of this long standing company.

Cup Height 1 1/2", Cup Width 3", Saucer Width 4 1/2"

The ramekins and saucers are in very fine pre-owned condition. This means they have been used. There are no chips or cracks.

Stamped on the bottom of each saucer and ramekin: green script GDA/ France and GDA Limoges in a red wreath.

Sold as a Set of 4. On Etsy, in my shop NoonmarkAntiques, one word.

Ballantine House, Newark, New Jersey

The Jeanette and John Ballantine House, son of the founder of Ballantine Brewery, house built in 1884, adjacent to the Newark Museum, 49 Washington Street, Newark, New Jersey. Access to the Ballantine House is through the Museum.
For 30+ years, as we drove along the New Jersey Turnpike, I longed to see the interior of the Ballantine House. The house first came to my attention when I saw an article about it in Victorian Homes Magazine. At that time, in my early 20’s, I thought the interior of the home was the most beautiful I had ever seen. This past weekend, we finally had the opportunity to see the Ballantine House in all its newly restored glory. It did not disappoint.
My emotional response to the home was one of awe and delight. Not in the overwhelming way that the Newport Mansions evoke, but, in a charming intimate jewel like fashion. Each room is thoughtfully and correctly decorated to the time period. I was impressed with the care and placement of the objects and the absolutely stunning wall treatments. The stained glass windows glowed in the afternoon light. The wood paneling and stair banisters of the impressive staircase were a tour de force of excellent workmanship. There were plenty of description cards loaded with information scattered about each room and even intriguing recorded sounds to add to the realism. Upstairs, a few bedrooms were on display along with interactive rooms to ponder.
I highly recommend a visit to the Ballantine House. We spent about 45 minutes within the house itself, but, could have lingered much longer. Afterwards, there is the adjacent Newark Museum, filled with many interesting objects to admire, along with interactive information stations. Definitely a family oriented experience.

Vintage Crow Decoy, Folk Art, Decoy Collecting, Last Quarter 19th century, Upper New York Region

True Folk Art. A hand carved full bodied Crow Decoy with stand included, ready for display.

The realistic body shape and solid black paint make this one of a kind sculpture a focal point in a modern as well as country setting.

The collector will note the tack eyes and relief wings that tuck up onto the back.

The Crow is flat bottomed and can be displayed on a shelf as such, or on the included stand, or hung by the small hook on its back.

Condition is excellent with minor expected abrasions, a tight crack on the underside, and a few underside dings. Tack eyes were covered with paint at one time. Photo shows an old filled hole on the head.

Body length 15", Body height 4 3/4", Crow on stand height 13"

Free Shipping. Available on Etsy at NoonmarkAntiques, my shop.
