Abby's mission is to encourage the love and knowledge of music in students in and around Mobile County through piano and voice lessons.
Abby believes in the value of reading music for both pianists and singers. For that reason, music theory is the primary foundation of the lessons. Ear training and chord chart reading will be encouraged after the basics of theory are established. For the convenience of the students (and the parents ) multiple locations for lessons are offered, including your home! A sibling discount is also offere
d to families with multiple children!! About the Teacher
Abigail Lindquist began her musical journey at seven years old under the exacting tutelage of Barbara Laurendine. Homeschooled before becoming a music major at the University of South Alabama, Abigail used that freedom to diligently focus and refine her piano skills with much practice, many performances, and many University of Mobile’s Summer Music Camp participations. Taking part in numerous competitions, she received many awards During her high school years Abigail added vocal instruction under Cherri Fussell. As she worked towards her recently completed Bachelor of Music with a Concentration in Music Education she studied piano under Dr. Jerry Alan Bush and voice with Linda Zoghby and Dr. Thomas Rowell. She was a member of the University of South Alabama’s Choir and Chorale with the delightful Dr. Laura Moore, and has performed with the university’s Opera and Musical Theater group under the direction of Dr. Rowell (recently playing Kate in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance). Additionally, Abigail takes an active part in the worship team at Knollwood Church. She has gone on many missions, and been active in art and drama. Possessing great experience with and love for children (she is one of eleven children with 31 nephews and nieces and is the favorite care-giver of many), Abigail looks forward to encouraging a love and passion for music in her students.
