Detail of La Scrito Sur Moro Indigo. The process of making indigo is a laborious and detailed craft of art. Indigo is traditionally made by soaking Indigofera plant leaves in water to ferment, converting indican to indoxyl. Aeration oxidizes indoxyl into blue indigo pigment, which precipitates out. The pigment is filtered, dried, and then processed into a soluble form using an alkaline substance and a reducing agent. The fabric is dipped into the solution and oxidized in air, turning it blue. Indigo also has metaphysical properties. They include, Indigo is associated with intuition, spiritual insight, and the third eye chakra. It symbolizes deep knowledge, spiritual awareness, and the connection between the conscious and subconscious mind, promoting clarity and enlightenment. My intention is to create artwork that is contemplative and calming.

The inspiration for "La Scrito Sur Moro Indigo" stems from my explorationfor the remarkable works of past artists like Picasso and Matisse. I sought to explore the motion of mark-making and the profound simplicity of cave drawings. This piece is a blend of those classical influences and my modern perspective.

The technique and materials used in this artwork hold significant meaning for me. By using mixed media on handmade paper over panel, framed in plex, I aim to blend traditional and contemporary elements. The paper, crafted from Loktah in Kathmandu, Nepal, introduces a unique texture and essence to the artwork, connecting it to a rich cultural heritage.

It was so exciting to have the opportunity to work with Thomas Pheasant on his project, the Rosewood Hotel Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas. My painting lives in the check in area at the hotel. Recently, one of my clients and also a personal friend mentioned they were at the hotel and immediately recognized my work. What a nice feeling.

Bianca Tilt is a mixed media on neutral abstract artwork on canvas that measures
