The best way to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and optimal performance of your heating equipment is with an annual preventive maintenance and the best time to schedule this is in the fall, before you turn your heating system on !!
There are many benefits of a preventive maintenance.

1. Energy Savings
A heating system that is dirty or neglected has to work harder than necessary to raise the temperature in your home. During the course of the scheduled appointment, a qualified technician will perform a number of vital operations including:

Tightening loose connections
Lubricating moving parts
Cleaning or changing the air filter
Testing airflow
Visually inspecting ductwork
Checking connections
Testing system controls
Testing thermostat calibration
And more!
Each of these tasks contributes to the efficient operation of your heating system, reducing energy usage, and lowering your monthly bill.

2. Increased Comfort
Malfunctioning system components, leaky ductwork, or reduced airflow can prevent your heating system from achieving the desired set point on your thermostat.

3. Enhanced Air Quality
As conditioned air moves throughout your duct network, it carries with it any loose particulate that was unable to be trapped due to a clogged air filter, dirty system components, or sat lingering in your ducts. Common contaminants can include:

Pet dander
Mold
Mildew
Bacteria
Dust
Pollen
In addition to creating more dust on surfaces in your home, the particulate can trigger symptoms in those who suffer from allergies or asthma, contributing to a lower quality of indoor air.

4. Extended Equipment Lifespan
When your heating system is clean, lubricated, and in good repair, parts can move freely and airflow is unimpeded. The less stress that is placed on your equipment the longer it will last, ensuring years of optimum performance.

5. Improved Safety
A clean, well-maintained fuel burning appliance produces a minuscule amount of carbon monoxide, which is typically carried away by the venting system. However, a system that is dirty or malfunctioning can produce much higher concentrations of this deadly, odorless gas, posing a threat to the occupants in your home. As part of your heating maintenance plan, the technician will inspect the burner combustion, gas connections, and heat exchanger, to ensure all parts are in good working order.

6. Lower Cost of Repairs
Most minor issues can be detected and rectified during routine maintenance before they become major, costly repairs.

7. Reliability
Taking the time to schedule preventive maintenance at the start of heating season, ensures your system will operate at peak performance, providing reliable, efficient heating services, and avoiding a costly, mid-season breakdown.

Installed New 5 Ton Heat Pump !! ❄☀️

14/07/2021

There is currently a large shortage across the board with all manufacturers for HVAC equipment and parts. Parts are becoming very hard or impossible to get at the moment. Lead time on the available parts and equipment can be a minimum of 3+ weeks out. Pricing has been doubling and even tripling on parts and equipment. It's a complete mess right now. I'm afraid this is only the beginning.....

Energy Star recommends you should consider replacing your air conditioning system when it's over 10 years old. In a perfect world, you should only have to replace your system once every 10 to 15 years.

But, as with all mechanical equipment, your system can wear out sooner than their expected lifespan. A worn-out system could be the result of it being installed or sized incorrectly, or because it wasn’t maintained annually.

Is it time to replace or repair your current system? You’ll know if you see any of these 4 signs:

Your system has frequent breakdowns

You have high energy bills

Your home has fluctuating humidity

Your home’s size has changed (additions)

How can you make your current AC system more efficient?
-Airflow and your outdoor unit: Keep outdoor units clear of plants and overgrown weeds. Your AC needs to push all that hot air somewhere. The harder the unit has to work, the more it will cost to run and the more poorly it will perform.
-Preventative maintenance: Get it serviced regularly. It's recommended to get your AC serviced at least once a year. If an AC system isn't maintained properly, it gets dirty, If it's not serviced, your AC can get full of hair, dust and debris. This can affect the air you breathe. The inside coils can even develop rust, and this can be blown through the plenum to every room in your home. This is a potential hazard for asthma/allergy sufferers and your health in general, but it's also bad for your A/C system too.
-Change your filter regularly: I can’t stress this enough! PLEASE change your filter regularly! When you don’t change your AC filter, your central unit gets less airflow delivered to it. Reduced airflow means your AC has to work harder to get the temperature you want. This added pressure to the system can lead to your evaporator coil (the part of your AC that actively cools the air) to freeze up – stopping your system from operating properly and potentially causing some very expensive issues to repair!
-Fix leaking ducts: A leaky duct could lose up to 30% of that sweet, cool air before it even reaches the room you’re in! Stop pulling hot, humid air from the attic or, worse, paying to air condition it!
-Replace components when they start failing: If your A/C has parts that aren’t functioning at their full potential, it can cause other (more expensive) parts to work harder and fail sooner than expected, raising your costs considerably.
