We’re about to get the keys to the shop this month, and it’s ALL HAPPENING. Here’s a last look at the last bits of construction — restoring the historic marquee and finishing up the patio. Next up will be window and front door install. Huge shoutout to our amazing contractors for keeping things on schedule and letting us be part of every decision (and not undermining us as women running this ship). This place already feels like home sweet home.

Meg and I have been designing and planning from a distance, but nothing compares to stepping inside the space we’ve been dreaming of.

If there's one skincare topic I hear most these days and enjoy talking about, it's postpartum skin.

The hormonal shift after giving birth often leaves skin dry, itchy, reactive, and dull (not that you're too focused on your complexion during the throes of postpartum). Common things people experience after giving birth: hives, melasma, acne, and eczema. Today, my relationship ends with a place I’ve worked from since 2020. Goodbye to the cracked vintage tile, the most beautiful natural light I’ve ever seen, and tall vanilla cream walls. I part with a leased commercial space that knew me pregnant, in the trenches of postpartum, close to giving up, in deep love, and in many stages of repair. These walls have witnessed transformation, as walls often do.

Much celebration surrounds a new venture, the Maven Theory (.theory) shop opening in the fall but for now, I’m tucking in and remembering all the versions of me and, if you were lucky enough to shop here in person, the versions of you that inhabited this space. Even if you stopped in once, it matters.

Operating a brick and mortar (along with .theory) has come with generous learning moments, and it’s going to set an intentional framework for what we want you to experience when you shop in the new store.

I am immensely grateful to you, the people who came and shopped here. For bringing your children, your realness, your laughter, stories, and sometimes your tears - for the revealing conversations or just a quick pass-through before your flight back home.

Big shifts are happening around here. One of those changes is that our roll-ons are retiring.
