Today, we stormed Challenger Park in scenic Parker, CO, for an epic Nerf showdown! Hosted by PAMA, "Testing in the Park" event was where future Taekwondo black belts earned their next rank—and also became prime targets in the Nurf Terf arena. Almost a hundred families signed up to unleash their foam fury, while Coach Lauren and I raced against time to armor up these warriors in record speed. The battles raged on into the afternoon. In the end, it was a day filled with laughter, flying foam, and the realization that everyone has a future in Nerf combat!

Spent the day with the Club Greenwood Kids Club at the stunning Westlands Park in Greenwood Village. I'm giving a special shoutout to Mother Nature for keeping the rain on standby. She's a real MVP! ☔️

First up, we had the "Littles" showdown: Team Minions vs. the Eagles. Word on the field was that Kevin came up with the Minions name for the yellow team which resulted in Stuart having the biggest eye roll in history on the blue team. It was a thrilling match—by which I mean there was a lot of running around, but not much scoreboard action. Final score: Minions 1, Eagles 0.

Next, the "Middles" took the stage with the Yellow Demons trying to spook the Blue Dominators. Spoiler alert: the real terror was on the Demons' side when they were down 3-0. Enter our unexpected hero, Coach Peter, who swooped in with some game-changing advice and as an extra player. The Demons rallied to a 3-3 tie just before lunch. I convinced the staff to let us do a tiebreaker, and thank goodness for that! The Demons decided to flip the script and snagged a 4-3 victory. Talk about a comeback! 😈

After lunch, the "Oldies" rolled in, and the yellow team must've left their creativity at the snack table because they went with the Minions name again. The Blue team, feeling bold, dubbed themselves Team Skibidi. Here's the rundown: Minions won the first challenge 3-1, Team Skibidi with a score of 3-2 claimed the second, and the Minions took the third 3-1. We squeezed in an extra challenge, and Team Skibidi nabbed it 1-0. The final challenge was all Minions, ending with a whopping 30-15—though Team Skibidi insists a tree was to blame. 🌳

All in all, it was a day full of fun, laughter, and a whole lot of unexpected heroes! 🎉

Coach Julia landed at Gold Rush Elementary today, and let's just say, the excitement levels were higher than a kindergartener on sugar! In the morning session, the Red Blasters and Blue Scorpions went head-to-head. In the first challenge, the Blasters sneaked past the Scorpions with a 3-2 win. They must have found their groove because they kept the good times rolling with another victory, 3-1. By the final showdown, the Scorpions were all out of sting and lost 3-1.

In the afternoon, the Fireballs faced off against the Sniper Unicorns (What?? LOL). The first challenge was so tough, even the referee needed a nap, with the Unicorns grabbing the only point. The second round was a nail-biter, but the Unicorns pranced their way to a 3-2 win. They repeated that score in the third round, proving they had some serious magical mojo. But then came the legendary Bucket Challenge, where the Fireballs decided enough was enough and blazed to a whopping 70 against the Unicorns' 65! I mean, I've seen unicorns fly, but I've never seen scores soar like that!

Stay tuned for more Nerf shenanigans—because these blasters won’t shoot themselves.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and all foam-flinging fanatics, welcome to the next grand spectacle of the Nurf Terf arena! Or, as some might call it, the gym at Hulstrom K-8.

Our warriors today come from the legendary lands of Hulstrom and Stem Lab. This morning, I found myself staring down the barrels of the fiercest fighters of all—Kindie and 1st grade. And let me tell you, folks, these tiny titans found it far more entertaining to shoot at me than at each other. The Chargers and the Blue Diamonds took on the legendary (and often bewildered) Coach Peter, who was more like a walking target. Once the chaos settled the Chargers claimed victory in the first challenge, 3-1, and doubled down with an 11-7 win in the second.

The second session saw Team Nacho facing off against the icy resolve of the Ice Breakers from grades 2 and 3. Team Nacho might have taken one on the chin, handing over a 3-1 win to the Ice Breakers, followed by a nail-biting 11-10 defeat in the second challenge. Sorry, Team Nacho, This was Na-cho day—maybe next time!

The grand finale featured the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders (Oy!). Team Beans squared off against Team Hamilton, both teams battling post-lunch food comas and pre-hormonal outbursts from time to time. Hamilton took the first challenge 3-0, but the Beans bounced back in a big way, winning the capture the flag event 15-2. The Beans continued their streak with a 2-1 win in the third challenge, but Hamilton dominated the bucket challenge, scoring 17 to the Beans’ 9.

Stay tuned for more tales of foam-fueled glory and giggles!

Rocky Mountain Kids and Dartmouth Elementary hosted Nurf Terf yesterday. In the morning session we saw the Wild Tigers go up against the Sneaky Snakes. Coach Lauren reported that it was a dead heat all the way up to the end, where the Sneaky Snakes snuck one extra dart into one of their buckets, thereby s(n)ecuring their victory in the morning games.

The afternoon session was kept fruitfull by the Blueberry Dolphins and the Raspberry Dragons. To paraphrase Coach Lauren: "I'm fairly confident that the Blubberry Dolphins won, but this may not be factually accurate".

Absolutely great pictures curtesy of Coach Lauren.

... meanwhile at the Belleview Christian School the basketball court was again transformed into the Nurf Terf arena where in the morning session the Blueberries took on Team Banana.

The first challenge was grabbed by the Blueberries. ..."but just bearly" - coach Lauren commented after recapping the games.
After the 2nd challenge the score was equalized by Team Banana.
The tie breaker 3rd challenge was won by the Blueberries.

In the afternoon the Blue Doritos met the Rizzlers and the games went very much the same as in the morning.
1st challenge to the Blue Doritos
2nd challenge to the Rizzlers

At Broomfield Commons Park the TicToc Riz Party met with team Mr Bean in an epic outdoor nerf battle that resulted with the TTRP taking the 1st challenge right out the gate for 3-2.
This was followed by a solid retort by team Mr Bean in the second challenge. Winning the challenge 3-2. They kept up this pressure during the 3rd challenge and Mr Bean dominated the TTRP 10-4. The 4th challenge brought a 4-4 end score. The final challenge, by skin of their teeth, the TTRP eeked out a 16-15 victory. Lots of games played today.
