Hello friends! I'm so appreciative of the donations you've made over the past few weeks! We've been able to treat people for free or just small donations if they'd like; we were able to pay the rent (yay!) for the offices; and we were able to give a little extra to our practitioners, Rebecca and Heidi, to help with their lost income and extra expenses. Also, our friend, Claire D'Gaia has come all the way from Missouri to offer the healing touch of Craniosacral therapy - definitely on Friday at our Burnsville office, and hopefully this weekend, location TBD.. please be in touch if you're interested. Hello friends, this is Jade Jeanne Pierce L.Ac. clinic director for MCHA. We're hoping to begin offering treatments for relief of pain and stress this week! I know that many of you are struggling with your own challenges because of the Hurricane. If we can support you with free or discounted treatment, please come see us!
All Traditional Asian Medicine sessions (acupuncture, bodywork, herbal medicine) being offered for whatever you can afford... free, donation, barter. The Spruce Pine office is good to go right now, so I will be able to see folks this coming Tuesday 10/8. I am also offering sessions at my house in S. Toe on Wednesday 10/9. I'm hoping to see clients at the Burnsville office on Thursday, but we're still working on getting things fixed up there. We'll let you know when our other acupuncturist, Rebecca Evans, will be available. Sadly, our massage therapist, Heidi Glatz, will be out of work for the foreseeable future because of her own personal hurricane recovery needs.
I check all forms of messages twice a day. If you'd like to schedule to come in, please let me know. If we get community clinic going, that will be schedulable online asap.

Hello friends, colleagues, clients of MCHA. Letting you know that all our staff and practitioners are safe and sending all of you. Much love and best wishes for your well-being. Our offices are closed right now mainly because of lack of water. However, I will be assessing the Spruce pine office soon to see if we'll be able to start up there again. Our Burnsville office still does not have running water and it will probably be forever before we get sewage service. However, we are working on alternatives and we'll keep you pi**ed it.
Keep an eye out for our newsletter emails for updates.
Even though cell and Wi-Fi service is very limited, I will be checking messages a couple times a day. Please reach out if you have any questions or need anything. I will be posting some helpful information although much of it pertains to either south toe or Yancey, but some of it can be helpful to everybody.

Take care of your body's minds and souls. It's easy to want to jump in and volunteer and overwork yourself. And of course many people have A huge amount of flavor to do at their own homes. Remember to take deep breaths, be careful of your hygiene, especially if you have been mucking around in toxic mud or water, rest and eat healthy food if you can. There are so many people giving away lots of food and clean water and other hygiene supplies. What a wonderful community. We all live in in! 💚 Jade

From a friend at 9pm... WNC friends! DO NOT DRIVE if you can help it. 80 is flooding dangerously already from breeches in drainage ditches and overflowing creeks! There are “rivers” a foot deep flowing over the road already. Super sketchy!!! I barely made it home and that’s a first for me. Lots more rain to come, this is just the beginning. Seriously be careful!! They updated the rain total prediction in our area to 18” 🤯🤯🤯
