Ladies, that rapid weight loss is not getting you to where you want to be. Sure, it sounds like the perfect diet but you WILL gain that weight back, often faster than you lost it. In addition, you will lose muscle resulting in a slower metabolism. YOU'RE WORKING AGAINST YOURSELF!​​​​​​​​

Ronan Kai was born 6.28.22 and let us know he had strong, healthy lungs. ❤️ We spent the following 48 hours in the hospital and could not believe we were the ones who got to bring this sweet boy home. Since Thursday we have been adjusting to whatever Ronan wants to do and taking it easy! For now, we’re going to be enjoy the precious moments. 💙

Today we get to meet this little guy finally. I have a scheduled c-section (per my wish) for this morning. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
The past 9-months have been the biggest learning experience for me, from having to trust my body to let it grow a baby to continuing to build my nutrition practice. I cannot say every day has been easy but I do know that I am beyond blessed and go to bed feeling grateful every night.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
For now, my content will not be as consistent as I want to soak up every moment. I am sure I will be sharing my photos of this little guy. 💙​​​​​​​​

Eating the lowest amount of calories per day is not the way to go about losing weight. THIS IS NOT HEALTHY! Did you know that it's recommended to get at least 5 servings of fruit & veggies per day?! ​​​​​​​​

First, a serving is considered 1 cup or 1/2 cup if it is cooked and shrinks in size. Usually, I recommend my clients to get 1 serving with breakfast, 2 servings with lunch & dinner, and an extra serving with their snack! ​​​​​​​​

Fruit & veggies not only provide your body with a variety of vitamins and minerals, so you feel your best! They also help to keep your plate balanced. Their high fiber and water content help to keep you full without all of the extra calories! ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
The last thing I want is for my clients to be hungry/hangry when losing weight. After making sure their protein and carb intake is adequate I then assess their veggie intake. This is a great way to add volume to a meal, keep you full, and still stay within the calorie range needed for weight loss. ​​​​​​​​

Ladies, one meal or day will not determine if you will lose weight or not. IT IS YOUR OVERALL DIET & HOW CONSISTENT YOU ARE. ​​​​​​​​

Hear me out... think about your diet before you were trying to lose weight. It might have consisted of higher caloric meals often. Now, if you threw a balanced meal in there would that mean you would lose weight?! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! So, why would you think that a higher caloric meal would prevent you from losing weight?​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
It is all about your overall consistency and trends. That is why I focus on YOUR WEEKLY CALORIE AVERAGES. Most likely, you will have some days above your weight loss calorie range, but other days that are under. This is normal & healthy! At the end of the week, we are looking for your average to fall within that weight loss range! ​​​​​​​​

We all want something cold to drink, especially with this heat but there can be a lot of hidden calories within our beverages. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Yes, it is okay to have the drink on the left, some days. However, we want to make that more of an occasional thing. Why? Because at 470 calories that is more of what your meals should be. It also contains 60 g of sugar, which is 15 teaspoons 😱 and 2.5 days worth of sugar. ​​​​​​​​

Sure, that drink is going to taste DELICIOUS but I promise that in 1 hour you will be tired & sluggish from all of that sugar. 🙅🏽‍♀️​​​​​​​​

I encourage you to try the beverage on the right most days. This beverage has only 80 calories and 16 g of sugar (4 teaspoons)! It will still satisfy that need for something special but will be more in line with where your calories should be.

Can you relate? Restricting after a holiday weekend is far too familiar especially after Memorial Day because many want to feel good for summer. ​​​​​​​​

I am here to tell you that skipping meals and only eating salads is NOT the way to go about it. You are not only setting yourself up to overeat & give up within the next few days. You are also setting yourself up to gain more weight than you lost. 😱​​​​​​​​

Instead, provide your body with what it needs to keep you feeling satisfied and make these changes for good! Start with planning out your meals and aim for 1-2 cups of veggies with them! This is going to help you keep a balance and feel your best!​​​​​​​​

Yes, that's right all foods can contribute to weight gain making it important to be aware of the portions that YOUR body needs. Once you have an understanding of the portions your body needs, all foods can be included in a balanced diet for weight loss. ​​​​​​​​

💫When your base diet is well balanced and meets YOUR body's needs then sprinkling more indulgent foods throughout is fine. In fact, it can help you to keep the weight off! ​​​​​​​​

💫 By being able to sprinkle more indulgent foods throughout your diet you are able to have them more in moderation. Therefore, when you do have them you don't feel like you need to overeat!​​​​​​​​

When everything is your diet is changed and it does not honor your preferences you will gain the weight back and more. Why? Because you are not building realistic changes that work for you and you are not learning how to incorporate your favorite foods into your diet. Double tap if you enjoy a frozen Starbucks drink!​​​​​​​​

Did you know that most Starbucks frozen drinks have 2-3 days' worth of added sugar in them. 😱 Having some added sugar is fine, but it is recommended to keep your added sugar under 25 g per day. In addition to the high sugar content, most of their frozen drinks also have as many calories as a meal should be. This is only setting you up to exceed your calorie limit for the day and to feel lousy with your blood sugar spiking. 🙅🏽‍♀️​​​​​​​​

Instead, try going for something a little more balanced like their espresso light frappuccino blend! You will still be enjoying a frozen drink, but it has a fraction of the sugar and calories! ​​​​​​​​
