We are proud to have supported this program at the UF Architecture and Fine Arts Library through our 2023-24 Innovation Projects!
The University of Florida George A. Smathers Libraries submitted a proposal for a digital piano for their "Concerts at Noon" series. The series aims to attract students from the School of Music to the library, provide an informal performance venue, and help the library serve as a community gathering place.
Applications for 2024-25 Innovations Projects are due this Friday (November 15th)!

We are currently seeking presenters for KidsLIB Mini-Con 2025.
We are looking for presentations that will be practical and timely for library staff members who work closely with children under 13 years old and their families.
The event will take place on Friday, February 7, 2025 in Ocala, Florida.

Dr. Will has served the St. Johns River State College Library, Tutoring & Academic Support community for more than twenty years as librarian and Dean of Learning Resources. In 2024, she was promoted to Assistant Vice President for Learning Culture & Resources, so her staff felt this was the perfect time to honor her for her leadership and many accomplishments during her time at the library.

This illustrious group received their awards at the NEFLIN Annual Meeting on Friday, Sept. 13th.
First up: the Volusia County Public Library, who won this year's Innovation Award for their Pedal Forward Project. In conjunction with the library's Social Workers in the Libraries program, this project refurbishes bicycles to provide patrons with reliable transportation. Thank you, VCPL, for providing this valuable service for your community!

NEFLIN Innovation Projects provide up to $7,500 for members to fund a new project or service at their library. The application must describe how this new idea is innovative for your library.

These projects were funded either under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services or the Library Cooperative Grant program. Floridaβs LSTA and LCG programs are administered by the Department of Stateβs Division of Library and Information Services.
For FY2023-24, the total state and federal budgets for NEFLIN's programs are $694,693. 42% of the total costs ($294,693) are supported by federal funds, and 58% of this program ($400,000) is supported by state funds.

This year's theme is "Other Duties as Required". Proposals are due by December 15th, 2023.
This event will take place on Friday, April 26th, 2024, at the University of Florida Hilton Conference Center in Gainesville.

The staff consists of three MLS librarians and one administrative assistant. The organization is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors made up of elected representatives from member libraries.
Through grant funding and membership dues, NEFLIN provides members access to training, resource sharing, research and development, partnerships for grant funding, leadership opportunities, and additional services through relationships with other organizations.
