Tower Hill Nursery our phones are ringing daily with the question of what to do with plants hit by our 36 hours of frost we had. Damage is to be expected this time of year, but that doesn't mean you should prune it all back right away. Pruning triggers new growth, which is even more susceptible to cold damage. It is best to wait until the last chance of frost which averages around March 15th. The freeze-damaged tissue also helps insulate the plant against further frost.
