Meals for the week of 1.3.22 are available Monday and Wednesday at each school location from 12 – 2 p.m. Two days’ worth of meals will be given out on Monday and three days’ worth of meals will be available on Wednesday.

You may pick up meals for all children at one school location if you wish.

The Food & Nutrition department is currently hiring several part time/full time positions. The position is challenging and fast paced! Your day will fly by. Shifts are flexible and can be on an ‘as needed' basis, if you prefer.

The Lead - Food may work in any type of food location on Lansing Schools premises. This individual, under the leadership of on-site management and/or supervisors, will coordinate the activities of workers and/or service employees engaged in food operations

General Responsibilities:
• Understands and follows all policies and procedures.
• Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees.
• Assists in monitoring employee productivity and provides suggestions for increased service or productivity.
• Responsible for the supervision of day-to-day activities of subordinates and assigns responsibility for specific work or functional activities as directed by on-site management.
• Responsible for orientation and training of employees.
• Performs day-to-day assignments in addition to supervision duties.
• Works with customers to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service and problem resolution.
• Takes an interest and initiative in the development of the foodservice team.
• Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
• Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures.
• Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
• Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
• Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
 Maintains key control of operations and responsible for activities to ensure opening, closing and daily procedures are completed.

Okemos, Riddle get $260k for mascot changes from Native American Heritage Fund Riddle Elementary will become the Rhinos, named for Potter Park Zoo's famed black rhino calf.

We've added a few more mobile sites and needed to change days at Cumberland, Willow, North and Gardner. We believe changing days is a better alternative then shutting down sites. These sites will go into effective the week of June 14th and take us to the week of August 16th.

Meal site pick up-7 days of meals, Open Thursdays 10:30am-1:30pm, Mt Hope, Lewton, Riddle, Willow, Gier, Cumberland, Sheridan & Eastern. Any child 0-18 is eligible for these free meals.

Hill Center is open today 10:30am-4pm for 7 days of meals! All children 0-18 are eligible.

We have 7 days of meals today at- Woodcreek, Reo, Lyons, Attwood, Averill, Cavanaugh, Center for Success, Dwight Rich, Kendon and North.

Reminder: All meal sites will be closed Friday, April 2nd-
7 day meal boxes will be available on Thursday, April 1st

April 1st we will have 7 day meal pick up.
April 8th Hill Center will be open 10:30am-4pm

With Lansing Schools Spring break fast approaching (April 2nd)we want to share our meal distribution plan.

Tuesday, March 23rd All Food Pick Up Sites will distribute two day packs of meals. Schools will be closed Wednesday.

Through out all of the unforeseen challenges that the past year has brought us, we could not have persevered without the excellent teamwork our employees delivered. They have proven that they can deliver meals through car windows off pushcarts under wind, rain, snow, hail & heat conditions. They care for the health & safety of our students, families, caregivers, community & each other while delivering the nutrition needed. Working along side them has been inspiring! Today & everyday we celebrate & appreciate them all!!
