CONGRATULATIONS to our CTE Students of the Year!!

We are excited to celebrate the achievements of our CTE students, teachers, and programs!

Did you know that SCS has one of the state's highest numbers of high school students participating in technical college dual enrollment? (Shoutout to Suncoast Technical College!) In middle and high schools, 34 different CTE pathways provide technical education opportunities to students across 16 career clusters. Also, all middle and high schools have at least one CTE organization.

Seventeen students, ranging from 8 to 12 grade, were selected as CTE Students of the Year. These 17 students represent eight different CTE pathways and have collectively earned 43 industry certification credentials! They have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 unweights and 4.4 weighted!!

We cannot wait to see what you all accomplish!

🦃As we gather around tables laden with the bountiful harvest of God's goodness, our hearts overflow with gratitude on this Thanksgiving Day. The Venice Church of the Nazarene family extends warm wishes to each and every one of you. 🍂

Psalm 107:1 (NIV) says, "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." Today, we come together not just to indulge in a feast but to feast our hearts on the love and grace of our Heavenly Father. In the midst of the turkey and trimmings, let's take a moment to count our blessings and recognize the source of all good things.

In this season of thanksgiving, we reflect on the faithfulness of God. Even in the challenges, He has been our constant anchor, guiding us with unwavering love. Let's turn our hearts to 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV), "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." Our gratitude is not dependent on circumstances but is rooted in the unchanging character of our Lord.

As we share meals and create memories with loved ones, let's also extend our hands to those who may be in need. In doing so, we embody the spirit of thanksgiving by being the hands and feet of Jesus.

May this Thanksgiving be a time of deep reflection, heartfelt worship, and joyous fellowship. May the love of God surround you, and His peace dwell within your hearts.

today, in kids church we discussed transformation of life when one follows Jesus (just like Saul who transformed to Paul). We also experimented adding food color to roses. If you look carefully, you may see the tips of the petals starting to change color. Our memory verse is Romans 12:2. Maybe the kids will perform it one Sunday!

Just a reminder...tomorrow is Sunday so that means its time to get out and go to CHURCH ⛪

Today in Kid's church we started a Nazarene curriculum entitled: Operation Transformation with Mrs. Donna and Mrs. Seta taught a song/a verse, and talked about Saul's journey of transformation. Later the students made a butterfly that remind of it's lifecycle (we can be transformed too Romans 12:2). 7 out of 8 kids went through the ABC's of salvation and said: Amen! Mrs. Donna and Mrs. Seta will meet with the students every second Sunday of the month.

🌟 Farewell Blessings to the Warren Family 🌟

As bittersweet as it is to say goodbye, today we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude and bid farewell to these incredible souls, Trevor and Alex Warren and their beautiful girls. They have been an integral part of our Venice Church of the Nazarene family, leading and guiding our youth with unwavering dedication for the past few years.

Trevor and Alex, your time with us has been nothing short of a blessing. Your passion for our young members, your compassion, and your unwavering faith have touched the lives of so many. The memories created, the lessons taught, and the laughter shared will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Now, as you embark on a new journey in Indiana, know that you take with you the love and appreciation of everyone you've touched here. Though we will miss you dearly, we are confident that your future holds wonderful opportunities and experiences. May your path be filled with joy, success, and fulfillment, as you continue to touch lives and spread God's love wherever you go.

We're grateful for the time we've had with you both, and we eagerly anticipate hearing about the amazing things you'll achieve in Indiana. Remember, you will always have a family here in Venice, ready to welcome you back with open arms.

Sunday from 5-8 there is a VBS work day, we will have a training from 5-5:40 for anyone who hasn’t been able to be at the meetings, the rest of the time will setting up for VBS on Monday!

Our first 24 hours at camp have been EPIC! The kids are having a blast, and we have the best adult sponsors! Continue praying for our kids and our leaders this week as God is moving here at SLKC!

TONIGHTS VBS MEETING IS CANCELED.
Tonight’s VBS meeting in the VCN teen room is going to be rescheduled for a later date. A group of teens from the Colorado trip as well as Alex and Trevor’s daughter Paisley are currently sick. Please pray for healing for everyone affected. If you are interested in volunteering for VBS please comment below or email Alex Warren at [email protected] we will get the information sent out this week and reschedule our VBS meeting as soon as possible!

VCN kids ministry don’t forget to join us tonight for our summer kickoff celebration! We’ll be having pizza, popcorn, and ice cream! Can’t wait to see you there! 5-8PM 😊

Thank you to everyone who came out to help support our teens and children’s camp! The students worked hard and it paid off!! We are still a few thousand away from our goal, so if anyone is needing any odd jobs done that the kids could do to help raise more money for camp… Contact Pastor Trevor Warren at 574-326-0489! 

Reminder to our VCN family, the children and teens participating in camp will be hosting a car wash to try and earn money towards camp! Please come out and support them this Saturday, (tomorrow) May 28th from 10am-1pm! The teens and children will accept any donation you’re able to make to help them get to camp! 😊💛🧽💦

Ms. Alex and baby Paisley brought the Easter bunny to VCN preschool this past week to visit the kids and hand out some sweet treats! The Easter Eggstravaganza is tomorrow and if you missed your chance to see the Easter bunny, we heard a rumor he’ll be making an appearance at our Eggstravaganza! 🥚😃🐰🌸

Students who are interested in the Colorado trip, deadline to sign up is April 1st. If you haven’t already signed up or you haven’t talked to Pastor Trevor we really need you to do that as soon as possible! Even if you have given your deposit money, you still need to sign up online!! Spots are limited! It’s going to be an amazing trip. The dates are June 17-24th!
