As the April showers call to life all the dormant trees, flowers and grasses, today's Art Snack is a wonderful new eco-print we are showcasing by fibre artist Janet Tulloch!
Appropriately, here are the details about this work that is available at the gallery now:

About Janet:
In my Orléans (ON) home, I am fortunate to have two studios – one filled with art books, my drafting board, colour pencils, sewing machine and material scraps – what I call the dry studio; and my wet studio, where I prep art papers for ecoprinting, keep wintering plants, evergreen cuttings, gelli plates and lots of inks and paints.
Enjoy!

On a beautiful weekend in May 2016 I waited for a call from the hospital in Miami where I had just had a biopsy.
I was on a three month teaching tour and only a few special people knew that a mammogram and subsequent ultrasound were indicating breast cancer.
In Melbourne Florida in the opening circle of a three day workshop I wrestled with holding all of this myself and faking/presenting the fabulous workshop my students were anticipating… in the end several women opened up to their own wounds and troubled spaces and I decided to do so too.
On the afternoon of the first day of that workshop I received the phone call confirming breast cancer and every single woman in that room held the vision for me of the best possible outcome.
For two days I gave it up to the unknown and we painted and danced and laughed and secretly they all made little hearts for me which they strung together with ribbon and wrapped around me with love on the last day.
This is the demo painting that came from that weekend and it carries EVERYTHING that is meaningful to me about the way that women care for, understand and hold each other in love and sacred union.
Happy international women’s day! I love you all of my sisters ❤️
Don't spray the dandelions!!!
This is a honey bee. The pollen on her legs is from dandelions. Her tongue is sticking out due to what killed her that was on the dandelions. It's spring, dandelions are the bees first food. This bee is dead from w**d killer spread on what we see as w**ds, but what nature sees as food. Please don't spray for w**ds until vou see the blackberries blooming. In this area, w**ds, flowers and fruit trees are bees only source of food until midle of June. There are FAR more w**ds than flowers or fruit trees, so it's their only food source. No bees, no food crops for us and we all starve.

So Sandy is the new whipping boy in Shetland season 8? No Lika. He's the only true Shetlander in the series! Bad decision.
I gifted my friend Lale this piece of handmade ecoprinted and stamped wrapping paper. Would she use it for its intended purpose? No. Instead, she found wall hangers and pinned it as a wall-hanging.
