Deme Star Photography
Portrait, Branding, and Event Photographer Creating Colorful Moments That Tell Your Story With A Little Whimsy and Lots of Intention.
Serving Pensacola, FL and Other Beautiful Destinations Worldwide. Taking a portrait is more than just holding a camera and shooting. There is some knowledge of lighting and equipment involved, but most of all, it's about catching the true wonder of every person my lens sees. I look forward to every smile and twinkling eye, but mostly, I look forward to the joy these frozen moments bring every clie
I am not from a culture or family that celebrates Dia De Los Mu***os, but as an outside observer, the tradition is beautiful to me. So to honor the celebration, I'll be posting old photos loved ones I am remembering today (and everyday). If you feel so moved, share your own in the comments.

When these two princesses link up, you know there's bound to be excitement and trouble.
"Queen: And because you've been so good to poor old Granny, I'll share a secret with you. This is no ordinary apple, it's a magic wishing apple.
Snow White: A wishing apple?
Queen: Yes! One bite, and all your dreams will come true.
Snow White: Really?
Queen: Yes, girlie. Now, make a wish, and take a bite."- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 1937
Watch who you take apples from this Halloween!
As the sun sets and we all get dressed in our spooky, cutesy, funny costumes, I just want to send a reminder to be safe because, well there's princesses out there. You know what that means, there's an evil step parent, a power hungry wizard/witch, or someone whose just ugly on the inside out there trying to get them. (jk)
Have fun and Happy Halloween!
POV: You're a princess who meets someone pretending to be who they're not....wait that sounds like a trick. Fortunately, we're serving nothing, but treats over here!
Happy Halloween from this goregous princess to you!
And just like that you remember that there are moments you just can't sleep through!
The princess:
maybe you already know you've got that
Happy Halloween! Enjoy your Trick or Treating today!
Sometimes, you just need to look at the younger you for a little encouragement!
Shoutout to the young and younger version of Rapunzel!
One last post of these adorable faces. I just couldn't resist!
There comes a time in every mom's life where they realize their kids are getting taller than them (especially with boys). Are we happy they're healthy and growing...Yes are we happy they're taller than us...Uh NO!
Do we have to accept it while still asserting ourselves as the parent and authority....Of course and no matter what, love is always love there.
What makes a photo special? Knowing that this moment in time can't be replaced. You can never go back to when your kids had this particular smile, began to develop their personalities, or made you feel like you could love them anymore (psssst you can!)....
Except with photos, you can. no you wont get to squeeze their little faces or wrap them up with hugs, but you can remember how these moments felt; all the joys and the challenges of parenthood at this stage and to me, that's almost the same thing.
So, if you're looking for a photographer to give you all the warm, fuzzies, a photographer that will give you warm, vibrant photos filled with personality and charisma, I'm the one for you and we should talk.
And just like that your baby is growing up, but so are you. The best part about it, you're showing her what resilence looks like. You're showing her how to keep her smile and her heart sacred. You're showing her that being strong also means taking care of yourself. You're showing her all of this after and as you grow through it.
In case no one has told you today...You're doing a great job. Keep loving yourself and loving your little ones. I'm proud of you.
POV: You ask someone to take your photo and this is what you get....a picture that captures just how much of your personality this little human has picked up on!
POV: You just want a good photo of your kids together to hang on the wall. Something warm, bright, and full of love that shows just how much they've grown....And you get this heartmelting photo in your gallery.
I always talk about how important having professional pictures are, but there is something truly special about capturing the everyday moments of life.
So let's share together. Post the 3rd picture you last took from your phone's gallery in the comments, whatever it is.
I'll go first!
Part of what Fall Mini Session magic looks like....
Yes, traditional family photos are nice to have and of course I include them in all of my galleries, but I'm a HUGE fan of the unconventional portrait. The ones where you're just being yourselves and I find the perfect angle of joy and freedom. The sweet kisses, fun laughs from exploring a birdhouse, and yes, sitting cozy in a tree. Those are the photos I love capturing the most.
What about you, do you prefer traditional or candid photos?
While you decide in the comments, be sure to go book a !

Fall is cozy, but the fun doesn't stop at Pumpkin patches and sunflower fields. Sometimes you've got to put a little spin on it and do something a little spooky and a lof of creative.
So pick your favorite spooky (or not so spooky) costume--whatever level of cosplay you want. Grab a friend or three and book a Spooky Vibes Photo Session!
Feeling a little hungry....What's everyone having for dinner?
It's all just a bunch of ....
One thing I will ALWAYS be glad I got to do....be there for timeless moments like these.
There are going to be moments in your life, in the lives of your family when photos like these (PORTRAITS) will be the bricks you need to travel down memory lane.
These moments that may start with a little guidance, quickly turn into something genuine, are a true reflection of the love and joy your family shares. That's a remarkable way to think of a picture, right?
When life changes, kids get older, you move, or any number of situations, you'll have a reference point, a reminder of all the reasons you smile and I want to be the photographer (your FAVORITE photographer that creates this for you).
So now that the temps are cooler and some of the tourist have gone home, let's book your session!
Sometimes, all it takes is a little sunlight to draw me in and honestly, the fact that I can sit amongst the trees and still hear the waves gently caressing the shore is the timeout I need.
I really do love here.
Today is World Mental Health day and although it doesn't seem like it I truly understand the struggles others can face. Whether Depression, Anxiety, or other Personality Disorder, living in a world where you think and feel differently is tough.
So to today, take a moment if you have it to gain some understanding and knowledge and maybe even find a new way to provide support to those around you.
If you struggle with Mental Health no matter what it is, I'm glad you found this post. I care deeply about you and I'm glad you're still here. There are resources, if you don't already have support- Just remember not everything is one size fits all so it's ok if one thing works better for you than another so long as you're getting the help and care you need!

Live, Laugh, and Take the Picture
Hey there! I’m Dee, the face behind the camera of Deme Star Photography. Growing up, I loved going through the pictures in photo albums when we visited family. We moved around a lot (Go NAVY!) so holidays were always super special because not only did I get to see my family and flip through the pages of our family memories, we always made more. The laughter and togetherness always stayed with me.
For a few years, I worked in retail photography. First as a studio photographer, but ending as a district manager with 7 stores under my watch. No matter the location, I always made sure customer satisfaction was a top priority! I took a break from photography for a while and after receiving the gift of the most AMAZING kid ever (maybe I’m biased, maybe I’m not), remembered that warm, fuzzy feeling I get when the genuine moments are in front of my lens. That’s the feeling I strive to give.
