Thank you to all of my Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement friends and family! The first responder careers can be quite hard on us emotionally and physically, taking time to mend some of those pains in the company of persons grappling with the same issues has been a huge step towards healing for myself and others. I personally found yoga, meditation, and a journey into my own spirituality has helped with many of the issues I was left with after my short 12 years in the fire service. That is why I have become a proponent for open conversations where judgement is laid aside. That person in the next bunkroom over may very well be fighting the same demons you are, but pride prevents conversation and in turn can make us deal with these things in some unskillful ways at times. My wife and I have started the holistic wellness company Blue River Mind & Body and one of my personal goals with this is to bring healing to the first responder community. If anyone is or knows someone who may be struggling please reach out to us, we are here to help! 804-867-6556 will get an answer any time of day or night!
Pretty proud of this one!
Top to bottom kitchen remodel. New flooring, relocated refrigerator and dishwasher, removed bulkhead, new cabinets, countertops and farm sink with backsplash and a fresh coat of paint.
Top to bottom bathroom remodel. Still awaiting the arrival of the lighted fog proof mirror.
Porch posts and railings starting to show their age? Replace them with composite railings for a cost effective and low maintenance option.
Old trim starting to deteriorate? Replace it with a PVC trim option for lower maintenance and something that doesn’t rot like wood.
We did a little sprucing up of a bedroom living space and attached walk-in closet. Removed old carpet, leveled then sealed the sub flooring with oil based Kilz due to animal issues for odor abatement, laid underlayment and 450 square foot of Brazilian Cherry hardwood with matching shoe molding.
Knocked out some front porch posts and railings. Still have to demo the brick stairs and build new wooden ones as well as trim the tops of the posts.
