***Storefront CLOSED Wednesday, May 8th. Back open on Thursday the 9th!*** Quick Version: WE ARE GROWING! YAY!!! But growth comes with a few growing pains, one of which is us needing to be closed tomorrow, Wednesday the 8th. We are so sorry for any inconveniences this may cause! Here's the deets.... We are growing!!! Like big time! Our current Downtown Storefront is a cutie patootie but it is itty bitty. The space you see when you walk in and visit us is already small, but the space you can't see, where the baking and making happens, is even smaller, like less then 300 sq ft! We've simply outgrown it. Our storefront is staying, but kitchen operations are moving to our NEW commercial kitchen just a few miles down the road in Keizer, off River Rd. Our team has grown and will continue to grow as we finalize the help we need, so please welcome the new faces you will see behind the counter; they're pretty awesome people! The baking and making will all happen in our Keizer kitchen, which will also be where we hold cake tastings and future cake classes. YEAP, classes!!!! Your custom orders will now be available for pick up at either location, Keizer or Downtown Salem, but there is NO case for walk in purchases at our Keizer Kitchen as there is no public access to our Keizer Kitchen. Moving in took a little more time then we expected, and we need to finish up tomorrow, Wednesday, which means we are unable to open the Storefront tomorrow. We are SO bummed by that! As a super small business, we really need every day of sales, but we also need to keep up the standard we've set and we just can't do that without taking tomorrow to finish up the move. We hope you visit us Thursday-Sunday this week! Side note - of course we'll have Mother's Day things galore this weekend!! With everything going on behind the scenes, we've really missed out on setting up preorders, but we'll be prepared with mini cakes (remember our Valentine's Day offerings?!) and goodies in the case! Soooo...we gave some super exciting news to share!!! Sewell Sweets is moving into BeeHive Station Food Pod in May!!!!!! We will still have our downtown Salem storefront, but now we'll also have the cutest little pink food cart full of goodies down in South Salem too!!!! I guess we have a thing for making sandwiches here now 🤷♀️🤣 I'm SO ok with it!!! This was another super fun realistic food cake that we got to do for a kiddoe who told her parents that her birthday cake was too sweet last year and she's not sure she wants a birthday cake this year. For the record, we did NOT make her cake last year, but we sure did this year and hopefully next year too! Her parents got a little cheeky with her request and decided to present her with a sandwich "since she didn't want a cake". HA!! They reported back that she loved it - YAY!!
