Two nights in the Tetons was an absolute pleasure, but catching up with an old teammate from the World Cup days is the icing on the frosty alpine lake. Put on backpack, go for a walk, pack the guitar and the rest will fall into place. Good hang and welcome to retirement…can’t wait to ski some of that soft snow with you this winter.
A day on the River with Dad usually comes with a small piece of advice. Yesterday he dropped this nugget of wisdom while we were gearing up on the tailgate of the truck:
~ “Don’t miss a thing” ~
After a long hiatus it was a blessing to watch him hold his own on the slippery rocks and strong current to reel in a few more memories.
Summer vibes in the high alpine. Working on a fun project in Far Out places and getting ready to release our Summer EP in August. I’ll be sharing more soon…In the meantime, gonna jump in a lake, cool down, and strum a few chords.
A walk through the wild…
Winter’s Last Breath was a strong one. After receiving 60+ inches of snow in 72hrs we happened to be in the right place at the right time, the center of the skiing universe, Alta Utah, for my first Interlodge experience.
We made the most of being “stuck,” and entered into a daydream. Some of the highlights were, busting out the guitars and trading live music for room + board, coming up with a new band name “The InterLodgers,” playing Dead tunes with a new friend, playing Marley tunes with an old friend, getting grilled by a New York Time’s Best Selling author and Special Ops ninja, eating cast-iron skillet baked chocolate chip cookies every night, and having a front row seat to the coldest, deepest April storm I’ve ever seen. Then the storm broke, the sun came out, the guitars were put away, and we got the goods without the crowds.
Here’s the breakdown:
* 60+ inches of cold smoke
* 5 days stuck in the canyon
* 4 guys stuffed into a room
* 3 live performances
* 2 country club ski days
* 1 big foggy memory that will forever be ingrained as one hell of an experience
What a fun hang last night with and at - thanks for having me and bringing the good vibes along with another huge storm cycle. Lets go skiing!

Outdoor inspiration has been showing up a lot lately in my songwriting. Here's a taste of my favorite combo: powder skiing and groove.
Skiing Home On a Powder Day (Song - Born Stoned) Its been the best Winter we've had in 30 years. So good we can ski to our doorstep. We had to take a couple detours including the 10th street stairs but it w...
Apparently it’s easy to keep your tips up when you’re sitting’ back and juicing the tails.
What do you think of the Freedog ski design concept?
