Cotton With a Cause.
For every ten Covered in Cotton throws that are purchased, we donate one to a local children’s hospital - with the hope that a simple cotton throw will bring comfort to a family and remind them that they are covered in the faith and hope of another family who knows the valley.
This mission was born from our own story of our youngest son, Tobin, fighting for his life through bacterial meningitis and emergency brain surgery when he was three months old in the children’s hospital in Columbia, SC in 2015. During our long stay in the hospital, a nurse gave our family the gift of a blanket, which provided comfort and warmth, but also a reminder of the Lord’s protection and provision to our family during that difficult time.
This past April, we donated 30 Covered in Cotton throws to McLeod Children’s Hospital in Florence, SC. We pray these throws bring comfort to families right here in our hometown hospital who may be experiencing their own difficult days with a child in the hospital.

This past December, we had the opportunity to share our Covered in Cotton story with other cotton growers from across the country at the Deltapine NPE Summit in San Antonio, TX. Not only did the growers there write personal notecards to include with our next hospital donation, but Deltapine’s Field to Closet initiative actually partnered with us in that donation by purchasing 200 Covered in Cotton throws and baby blankets to be donated to CHRISTUS Children's Hospital in San Antonio!
Some of our Deltapine friends met us back in San Antonio today to personally make that donation with the Child Life Specialists there at the hospital and celebrate this wonderful collaboration between two companies who are passionate about the same things - agriculture, cotton, and making an impact in our local communities!
As we continue to celebrate Ag Week, this partnership serves as an incredible example of how the agriculture industry is not only in the business of planting seeds in the soil. We are in the business of planting seeds of stewardship and support in our local communities - growing an impact that reaches far beyond our fence posts and fields.

We celebrated FIVE years of Covered in Cotton this year! That's five years of sharing the highest quality cotton from our family farm to your home. And, it's also five years of sharing the gift of comfort through our Cotton With A Cause mission.
For every ten Covered in Cotton throws we sell, we donate one to a local children's hospital. We make donations all throughout the year, but every December, you'll find us right here - back at the same hospital our family spent Christmas in 2015. As our 3 month old Tobin fought for his life against bacterial meningitis and emergency brain surgery that December, we received countless prayers and acts of kindness. But, one gift of comfort from one of our nurses, Ali (pictured second from the left), had even more blessing in store than we could imagine.
As the Lord gave us the dream for Covered in Cotton in 2017, He brought back to mind the blanket that Ali had gifted our family and inspired the mission to give back to other families experiencing the hardship of a hospitalized child. Our Tobin is now a completely healed and happy 8 year old, and we as a family have the honor of proclaiming the Lord's faithfulness and provision through Covered in Cotton and our Cotton With A Cause mission! We pray the 45 throws donated to Prisma Health Children’s Hospital-Midlands last week will be a tangible source of comfort and peace to families they will cover.

Our ‘Cotton With A Cause’ mission gives us the opportunity to donate one Covered in Cotton throw and baby blanket for every ten that we sell. While our heart is to bless others through these donations to children’s hospitals across South Carolina, we continue to find ourselves on the receiving end of the blessing.
We’re blessed by the friendships formed with the amazing staff and child life specialists at each of the five children’s hospitals we donate to each year. We’re blessed by the stories of gratitude and joy that we hear from these friends as they distribute these blankets of comfort to children and families in need. We’re blessed as we see the Lord continuing to prove His provision and power in such a tangible way.
And, as always, we were blessed just a couple of weeks ago as we traveled to Greenville, SC. We donated 31 throws to Prisma Health Children's Hospital - Upstate and 16 throws and 20 baby blankets to Shriners Children's Greenville.
