A note from Patricia Wigney, executive director, Bridgeway House:
I’m writing to proudly share the latest edition of the Turtle Times, the magazine-newspaper produced by Bridgeway downtown’s “Room 10 Writers,” as they call themselves. In the issue you’ll find content both serious and silly, all produced by the seven students in Chris Holter’s classroom, with Chris’s husband, Kevin Miller, serving as volunteer writing mentor and editor. (That’s Kevin in the photo, surrounded by most of his writers, some of who were still in face paint from the day’s end-of-school-year carnival.)

“Boredom had reared its ugly head barely a year after I retired from a long, cherished career at newspapers and a magazine in Oregon and Montana,” Kevin told me. “Now I’m beyond grateful that you and Chris gave me the chance to work with these amazing children, who have been anything but boring. They have powerful minds, plenty of courage and incredible creativity – everything an editor cold want in a group of writers. I urge those of you in the Bridgeway community and beyond to take a look and see for yourselves.”
