This information makes me laugh because it is patently false.
The only point that was true is that I refused to fill out the NRA survey. When I read the survey, I was extremely disappointed with it.
As a registered handgun owner, who enjoys target practice, who taught both of my children how to shoot rifles at a young age and celebrates hunting on our farm where we continue an annual pancake/venison dinner that started in the 70's.... I also believe in responsible gun ownership.
The survey led me to believe that the NRA is not concerned with responsible gun ownership. It seems that their sole purpose is to push gun sales at any cost without concern for whose hands those guns will fall into or how many of our children will be lost to gun violence. Until the NRA begins to acknowledge the importance of responsible gun ownership, I won't support them or be beholden to them. I am however a proud gun owner and supporter of the Second Amendment.

On Monday, the Surrey Twp clerk and election inspectors put on a mock election for about 100 students in 6 different high school classes from Farwell Area Schools. This is the beginning of what is hoped to be an annual event where young people can become familiar with the voting process.

The idea for the event came from last Spring’s Clare County Democratic Parrty Scholarship’s winning essay by Macy Campbell. Clare County Democratic Party Treasurer, Dixie Adams, Democratic Clerk, Glenna Bradbury and Farwell High School Principal Dr. Dee Yarger coooridated the event.
