BRWS has been elbows deep in this project for the past 5 years. Great things are coming.

Looking for two welder helpers local to Abilene, TX. Experience preferred but would consider training the proper candidate. 2-3 months HDD work, unpredictable breaks (expect something along the lines of 4/3 “ish”, 12+ hr days for most of it) $16-20/hr depending on performance.
One step at a time, everything in its proper place…
Prepped and ready to weld.
I love this job ❤️❤️❤️
On occasion, I’ll bring certain projects into the shop. If you weren’t already aware, BRWS does not have a storefront, there is no public access to the shop and we don’t do walk-in service.
My shop is a “sterile” environment. (This pic isn’t the whole shop, just one of my fab areas). Only one thing at a time gets worked here and every effort is made to prevent cross-contamination; all dirt, oil, grease, metal shavings and other contaminants are thoroughly removed, fume extraction/filtration is an actual thing here and everything I could possibly imagine needing for a given project is prepositioned in the work area and kept neatly in order throughout the process. I’d compare it more to an operating room than a welding shop.
Emergency Call - my client needed this drag bar to be 4” longer and started the conversation with a tight deadline; I was stretched out on another project when I took the call. The original plan was simply to cut it apart, add 4” of material to the center section and weld the ends solid. For reasons, that wasn’t the best fix; the ends were seized, needed to be adjustable (as originally designed) and the center section’s integrity couldn’t be determined at the thread ends. There was reason to believe it was compromised as adjustability had been completely lost and there were indications of cross-threading. For reference, the center section is 2.875” OD and the ends take 3.5” bolts. In my professional opinion, welding a 4” splice in the center section wasn’t going to be a good fix, especially with adjustability lost and questionable integrity at both ends. So I opted to replace the center section entirely, rebuild the ends and return it to its original adjustable design, plus 4”.
Time: 3 hrs, 15 min. 75 miles covered, drag bar torched apart, specific material sourced/acquired, machining complete including right and left hand threading of center section and end links, assembled and delivered with 20 minutes to spare. More than just welding, BRWS solves problems. Know who to call when it has to be done right… now.
Sometimes you need 2” holes bored in 1” thick plate and torching them isn’t an option.
Slowly getting there, one beam at a time.
Top of a drilling rig from underneath. Some parts touched that weren’t supposed to. Had to replace some of them. Long night. I love this job. ❤️
Stainless fuel storage tank for a local helicopter service came in with a 30” long leaking weld seam, broken mounting brackets and a need for lift points. Leak and brackets repaired by GTAW (TIG) process, lift points done by GMAW-P (Pulsed MIG). Pressure tested and good to go 👍🏼
Beautiful day at the office.
I wasn’t quite pleased with the last one. Deficiencies corrected 👍🏼
Because I can, lol.
Snow day Arts & Crafts.
Not a BRWS project; a local steel erector was short-handed and put out a call for help to get caught up. Thought I’d lend a hand.
It’s not quite “weldporn” but that wasn’t the goal here. This project required 42” continuous welds without stops or restarts and multiple passes to fill out.
Aluminum pontoon endcap replacement.
A little stainless work.
Ever been smack dab in the middle of a sea of solar panels? This is not a panoramic photo; I couldn’t figure out how to work that feature (I’m a weldor not a photographer).
