Our weekend at Sheer Madness didn’t quite go the way that we wanted, however I’m super proud of how these ladies fought and turned an off weekend into a decent one!

Starting 1-3 with 3 games ending in tie & going into ITB (International Tie Breaker).

Game 1 pool play we got the win in ITB 12-11.

Game 2 we lost 6-3 giving us the 2 seed in our pool.

First bracket game we lost 13-10 in another ITB game. This one was a heartbreaker!

Second bracket game we lost another ITB game 6-5. Another heart breaker.

With this being a 5 game guarantee tourney, we got the opportunity to come back on Sunday in single elimination format & we were on fire.

Wins of 11-0 Baeleigh with the shutout, a dreaded 2-game break, I was hoping they wouldn’t come out flat. Game 2 win of 8-0 Evie with the shutout!

Game 3 semi finals, down 5-0 after the first inning, a grand slam plus 1 more run. The score was still 5-0 until the bottom of the 4th we took the game to 5-3, the opposition got runners on 1st & 2nd with no outs & we got out of the jam with no runs allowed. Time was expired but we were the home team. On our final at bat the bottom half of the lineup came up huge. First 2 batters got on base. Next batter got a single, scoring the girl from second, runners advanced to 2nd & 3rd on the throw home, next batter Carlie with a line drive to center scoring 2 more runs to win the game 6-5. Evie came in after 2/3 of an inning and took control only giving up 2 hits & no runs.

In the Finals of our bracket we came up just short losing the game 6-4. We had some girls playing injured that showed a ton of grit as we were playing short handed on Sunday.

All in all what was looking like a busted weekend turned out to be very productive going 4-4 & 16-8 through 3 tournaments.

2 weekends off then back to Berliner on 7/5-7/7 for Buckeye Recruitfest & 7/12-7/14 for the All Sanction World Series.

Savannah, playing on a bad wheel had a .591 average with 13 hits, 13 RBI’s
Evie not only brought it in the circle, she had a .467 average & a .500 obp!!
Also congrats to Baeleigh on 2 homeruns & Kara on hitting a no doubt homerun. Lastly hats off to Kara for catching a majority of all 4 games on Sunday. We utilized a courtesy runner when she got on base because she’s nursing an injury as well. She was a beast all day long!

Everyone please wish our #12 Evie a very happy birthday!! Happy birthday to her twin Big Mack as well who decided that last summer was her last year of softball! We hope you both have an amazing day! Evie I’m so proud of how well you played this weekend!!

I’m super proud of our team as a whole & especially Baeleigh & Evie as Savannah is out with a knee injury so we are short a pitcher, so we are running with a 2 pitcher rotation! They stayed tough & did amazing as always!

Lasers Showcase Tournament has some of the best talent from around the area & surrounding states.

6-2 on the weekend putting our summer record to 12-4!

Next weekend 6/14-6/16, we are at another big tournament in Elyria & North Ridgeville for Sheer Madness Showcase! Our games start Friday Morning & go through Sunday.

6-2 on the weekend as Cap City Showdown Runner Ups! We won our 8 team super pool to get us into the championship game falling to a very solid OFC Heat team.

I can’t say enough about the way these young ladies performed. We only had 2 bad innings defensively all weekend.

As a team, our batting average was .430 with obp at .473!! 86 hits in 8 games with 23 doubles, 5 homeruns & 77 runs scored!

Defensively 31k’s, 5 out of 8 games were error free, & fielding percentage for the team at .941.

Lots of positives from the weekend, but a lot of things we will learn from as well!

All in all, not the result we were looking for as a team, but we had a lot of success!

Back to Berliner for Lasers Nation Tournament this weekend! 3 pool games each on Friday & Saturday, then single elimination bracket on Sunday!

Congrats to the Hammonds girls on earning MVP Honors from our opponents on Sunday & Congrats to Baeleigh & Kendra on your homeruns on Sunday! Both were no doubters!!

As a team today, our batting average was .520 & on base percentage was .568! 39 hits, 41 Runs scored! Only 8 runners stranded on base for the day!

Defensively, 12 innings pitched, 7 runs, 18 baserunners stranded on base & oh lastly the best thing, FIELDING PERCENTAGE 1.000 no errors today!!

Tomorrow is a big day! Game 1 vs a 4-1 Ohio Emeralds Nethers, if we win this game, we are guaranteed to be in the championship! Let’s go finish it!!

We have not met as a team since our last fall tournament (last weekend in October) where we went 6-0 that weekend! Picked up right where they left off! Everyone produced and they fought as a team!

Lastly a shoutout to my daughter Caitlyn & son in law Hunter for bringing my sister Jennifer to the games to watch!!
