REMEMBERING HIS GREAT SACRIFICE
"Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed." ~ Isaiah 53:4-5

March 30th 4:30pm Walk in Session!
In celebration of Catholic Sisters Week, we hosted a breakfast for our local Felician Sisters who's love, compassion, and dedication have been the cornerstones that McGuire Memorialโs mission was built upon. Upon arriving in North America in 1874, Blessed Mary Angelaโs directive was to โserve where neededโ and they have lived up to that challenge for McGuire Memorial and beyond!
It was truly a special honor to have so many of the Sisters gather in fellowship. Thank you to Felician Services Inc, the Felician Sisters of North America and our fellow Felician ministries across the country that support the mission of McGuire Memorial.
โญ๏ธSISTER SPOTLIGHTโญ๏ธ
Sr. Grace Marie Spera serves as the Director of Mission and Ministry at McGuire Memorial.
She was originally from the area and was taught by the Felician Sisters from elementary through high school. Upon graduating, she attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania for a year, then entered the community of the Felician Sisters of North America. In the course of her ministries, she has been a teacher, principal, counselor, academic coach, and now a Mission Leader.
Sister Grace states, "Growing up I passed McGuire Memorial countless times on the way to visiting family who lived in New Castle and Ellwood City. I always wondered what the sisters did behind those doors and windows never imagining that I would be called to the ministry of McGuire as one of those sisters. I feel very privileged and humbled to be a part of the McGuire Family and the mission and ministry of McGuire Memorial."
๐งถFun Fact about Sr. Grace: She is left-handed but learned to crochet right-handed.
Celebrating Traditions, Changing the World
Catholic Sisters Week shines a light on the spirituality, mission, and community building of women religious.
Throughout the year, the Felician Sisters of North America tirelessly engage in more than 50 ministries: empowering minds as educators; healing with compassion; nurturing the earth; championing justice for the marginalized, oppressed, and vulnerable; guiding in faith as inspirational spiritual leaders; caring for the community; and serving with joy.
For over 60 years McGuire Memorial has been proud to be a Felician Sponsored Ministry!
