We often think of compassion as kindness and support that we extend to someone in need or suffering. We may even be very intentional in our actions and speech to become more understanding and caring towards others. However, we often forget that we, ourselves, also need and deserve our love, care and compassion. Oftentimes, we are our hardest critic. As much as we may wish to be loving and compassionate human beings, the truth is, we can only be as compassionate to others as we are to ourselves.

Challenges may often come up in our lives but how we experience them is dependent on our perception of our situation. Where we place our energy and focus will determine our experience of our situation. What if we were to take a step back and realize the many different ways to perceive a given situation? How would our experience change, how would our life change?
Our greatest suffering often comes from our inability to accept our circumstances as they are. We may feel disappointed, upset, frustrated or angry when things don’t turn out as we had hoped or expected. We may also find ourselves in situations that we feel are unjustified, or perhaps feel that someone has wronged us. Or we may be holding onto shame or guilt and find it difficult to forgive ourselves. No matter the circumstance, when we are unable to accept our reality, we are the ones who suffer.
You may be resistant to the idea of accepting your circumstance as that may mean that you are succumbing to defeat. Haven’t you been taught to fight for what you want and stand up for what is right? So how can we integrate acceptance and forgiveness in our lives without being pushovers? Is that even possible?
Come to our next women's circle to join in conversation about how we can navigate the challenges in life with acceptance and forgiveness without compromising our strength and integrity.

Since I am back in my home country of Australia, I wanted to highlight an amazing natural remedy distilled from a native plant that is endemic to Australia, Melaleuca (tea tree) essential oil.
Melaleuca has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, anti-parasitic and analgesic properties. And has been used for centuries by aborigines to treat a variety of skin conditions including: healing cuts, wounds, and skin infections.
Today, research has shown that melaleuca essential oil may be helpful for acne, dandruff, athlete’s foot, head lice, and contact dermatitis. Other uses for this oil include bronchitis, colds, coughs, diarrhoea, flu, rash, sore throat, and sunburn.
You can apply this oil topically onto areas of affected skin; combine 1 to 2 drops into your facial cleanser; apply after shaving; add a few drops into a spray bottle with water and use as a general surface cleaner; and of course, you can add a few drops to your diffuser to cleanse your space and inhale its aroma for other health benefits. So many ways to use this versatile little oil!

Happy International Yoga Day! All of us have been impacted by the various events that are happening around us. Many of us are feeling the physical and psychological strains of our situations, personally and globally. While Yoga offers many physical benefits, it is so much more than an exercise. Yoga is learning how to balance the mind, body, and spirit, and in doing so, teaches us how to balance our relationship with the world.
The UN declared this year’s theme for International Yoga Day as Yoga for Humanity. May we be reminded of the values of mindfulness, moderation, kindness, compassion and love to help guide us through our interactions with ourselves, others, and our beloved Earth.

My Story
Hi, I’m Dora. I’m am a certified Holistic Nutritionist, registered Yoga teacher, Level 2 iRest® Yoga Nidra Meditation teacher, Master Reiki teacher, and a mother of two very energetic little boys.
Life is mysterious, forever changing, exciting, challenging, wondrous, frustrating, unexpected, and amazing all at once. How we experience life and what we get out of it is all in our perception of and attitude to life.
Yoga opened up my mind and changed me forever. It kick-started my healing journey and instilled in me a deep sense of curiosity about myself and the world around me. It showed me a different way at viewing the world, and led me to explore and inquire into a holistic way of living.
I feel deeply blessed to perform the work that I do and I truly LOVE my work. Appreciating the fact that we are all unique individuals and that we face different challenges and blockages in our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies at different stages of our lives, I dedicate my time in researching and learning about what it means to be truly healthy and happy, and how we can learn to live healthfully, with a sense of meaning and purpose in life.
