We are soooo proud of Judi Scoville, member of the 5:45am badass crew, who checked a box off her bucket list by hiking Mount Whitney on Sunday!

⭐️Let’s Beat the Statistics!⭐️
According to IHRSA (The Global Health & Fitness Association), Gyms typically lose about 50% of all new members within the first 6 months. We know life happens and things come up and throw us off our schedules, but only YOU can change these statistics! Be the other 50% who doesn’t fall off, who works harder than they did last year, who meets their friends for workouts… and we are here to help! ⭐️Injury Screen- February 12 @ 4-6pm Open House⭐️

Do you have a nagging injury that you never do anything about? Let me take a look and help you fix it! I will run through a quick 20 min assessment of those nagging pains that you just don’t have time to go to the doctor for and give advice on next steps. Exercises, stretches and self massage techniques will also be provided.
I will be at Tahoe Fit Monday 2/12 from 4-6pm for drop ins or call/text 610-563-4768 to schedule a time.

⭐️Exciting news: we are happy to partner with our friend and local physical therapist !

Jen is originally from Philadelphia and has lived in Tahoe since 2010. With a BS in Biology from UC Santa Cruz and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of St. Augustine, she is trained in techniques including Active Release, cupping, taping, and many others. Jen is currently studying to be a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). She also trained with and worked under local providers Rich Bozzio, Truckee PT and Tahoe forest. Jen is passionate about her career and providing for the Tahoe community. She wants to provide a different PT service that you can’t find at the hospital. Her philosophy is to develop programs specific to patient goals so they can get back to doing what they love. She is now offering cash pay PT services at Tahoe Fit with a goal of eventually taking all insurance providers. DM for more details! Self- care is SO in for 2024⭐️

New Instructor!
⭐️Meet Krista⭐️
Krista is a group fitness coach trained and certified in multiple modalities, with over seven years of professional experience. She developed a love for fitness at a young age, instilled in her by her father, a retired NFL linebacker. She began racing marathons (full and half) when she was 15 and those marathons transitioned into triathlons; competing in races including two half Ironmans! Fitness has been an integral part of her life and it came naturally to her until her life took a major turn. Within a short time, she was confronted with a personal tragedy, followed by a skiing accident that left her with extensive injuries resulting in surgery, new hardware and months of rehab. This led to her adopting a new way of training; honing in on the connection between the mind and body, honoring and meeting it at whatever stage it is in. As a result, she has become a more skilled and intuitive coach taking both a scientific and holistic approach to fitness.

⭐️”You can do ANYTHING for 20 seconds!”- if you’ve heard say that before, you’ve been a part of our super fun Tabata Tutu Tuesdays!

What is “Tabata”?:

Tabata is a style of high-intensity interval training that involves 20 seconds of exercise at your maximum effort, followed by 10 seconds of rest, for a certain number of rounds. It was founded by Japanese scientist Izumi Tabata, who studied the effects of moderate vs high-intensity training in the late '90s.

⭐️Why are our classes formatted the way they are? Because we believe the combination of strength and cardio is most beneficial for overall health. Our classes are mixed with burpees and chest presses, mountain climbers and deadlifts. Our continuing education is ever changing, learning new things in new courses or classes we take, but some things will always remain the same. Our amazing Lucie⭐️is riding along Willamette Valley and the coast of Oregon for Cycle Oregon, a 7 day ride she has been training for for months! This week, she will be climbing over 15,000ft and riding over 400miles. We couldn’t be more proud of her! Let’s cheer her on from afar!!! GO LUCIE! You’re a star ⭐️

🌟Meet Jeanee! Our newest member of the team🌟

Jeanee, a Grass Valley native, moved to Tahoe in October of 2016. As most do, she came for the winter, stayed for the summer and now has no intention of leaving. She grew-up competing in artistic gymnastics, basketball, horseback riding and tennis. The summer before her freshman year of high school, Jeanee tore her ACL playing basketball. During her recovery is when she first discovered a love for working-out and going to the gym. After college she found CrossFit which led her to Olympic Weightlifting. She competed in Olympic Weightlifting from 2011 through 2016. In 2014 she qualified and competed at US National Championships, placing in the top fifteen. After moving to Tahoe, Jeanee switched her focus from competing to learning new sports. She quickly fell in love with alpine skiing, nordic skiing, water skiing and mountain biking.

Jeanee currently works at Lake Tahoe School (LTS) in Incline as a First Grade Aid and PE teacher. She also coaches girls basketball and nordic skiing for LTS. In addition, she is the Head Varsity Girls Basketball coach for Incline High School. Jeanee enjoys the world of sports and fitness because of the perseverance and grit it builds. "When I do hard things in the gym, it gives me the confidence I need to accomplish hard tasks in my day."

You can find her some Monday mornings, Saturday morning rotation, and adding her evening Dumbbell Fit class for the remainder of the school year! (Check our mindbody site for the most up to date schedule!)

We are SO excited to add Open Gym concept to our business plan! We understand it’s hard to make class times work with busy schedules, so if you miss a day, don’t worry- there’s a workout on the wall and space for you whenever you can make it! We have added 4️⃣Cardio Machines, and some other new equipment. This will be for Auto-Pay & Paid-In-Full members ONLY. Once you sign up for your membership (options will be available for purchase soon), we will send you your own personal code to enter the gym. Tahoe Fit

Katie Martin grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to the city once she graduated from high school. After trying out college for a year and working as a waitress for many, she stumbled upon a bootcamp studio nearby her Chicago apartment. Her longtime fear of working out in gyms would soon subside. This new fitness studio brought such a welcoming and comforting vibe. She noticed that it was more than just working out -- it was a community of people who wanted a lifestyle change. That’s when she realized this was something she wanted to be a part of: changing people’s lives for the better and breaking them out of their comfort zones.

In 2012, Katie expanded her knowledge of fitness by receiving her ACE personal training certification and in 2014 she completed her 200 Hour Power Vinyasa Yoga certification. A few years later (her first year in Tahoe), Katie completed her Barre Above certification. Along with fitness, she broadened her knowledge on nutrition and proceeded to receive her Precision Nutrition Certification.

Katie found a true love for Tahoe and enjoys all it has to offer. Surrounding herself with athletes, she knows how beneficial her workouts are for people in her community, and knows what it means to be Tahoe Fit. Katie is always keeping her focus on her clients’ form and posture, moving around the classroom strategically. Her classes are filled with positive energy and uplifting music. Challenging but functional workouts in a fun environment is Katie’s goal as a fitness instructor. Come in for a workout and leave feeling happier, stronger, and more confident!
